7 Yummy (And Healthy) Snacks To Make This Summer
If you’re looking for a yummy snack to munch on by the pool, or an easy treat to share with friends at a barbecue – these summertime snacks are for you! And the best part about these snacks is that they are easy to make, no-bake recipes and will keep you feeling full and refreshed all day long!
Popsicles
One of the best things about homemade popsicles are the endless flavor options – you can easily make anything from a sweet, indulgent chocolate pop to a fresh, fruity pop. This snack is a delicious way to stay cool even during the hottest days of the year! (click here for a popsicle mold)
Chocolate Banana Pop
For this delicious popsicle, combine chocolate syrup, milk and peanut butter in a blender. Then pour this mixture into the mold, add banana slices and freeze them. If you want to get really fancy with these popsicles, you can dip the frozen popsicle in a chocolate magic shell and top it off with some crushed peanuts.
Fresh Fruit Pop
For a healthier popsicle, you’ll need some of your favorite fruits and lemonade. Just slice the fruits, place them in the mold (against the edge is best), fill the rest of the mold with lemonade and just let them freeze.
If you are looking to make something SUPER simple, you can transform your favorite beverage into a refreshing popsicle! I like to use orange or apple juice, lemonade or chocolate milk. You really can’t go wrong with any of these easy and delicious recipes!
Energy Balls
As the name suggests, this snack is guaranteed to give you lots of energy to get you through your day. To make these energy balls mix together oats, peanut butter, honey or agave, chocolate chips, chia seeds and flax seeds. Once the ingredients are combined, you can use your hands to mold the mixture into small balls and then just stick them in the fridge for a few hours before eating!
Apple Slices
This snack is perfect if you are looking for a yummy, healthy alternative to a cookie. Begin by slicing the apple perpendicularly to the stem. Then slather on some peanut butter and top if off with chocolate chips. Feel free to add walnuts, almond slices and coconut shavings on top as well for some extra flavor.
Frozen Banana Treats
To make these treats slice up a banana, put peanut butter in between two slices, dip these bites into melted chocolate, freeze for a few hours and enjoy! These frozen banana bites are perfect for when you are craving something sweet on a hot, summer day.
Fruit Kabobs
Making these refreshing kabobs is about as easy as it gets! All you need to do is pick your favorite summertime fruits along with some wooden skewers and place the fruit on the skewer. You can even make fun, speciality kabobs for holidays or serve them at summer parties. Use strawberries and blueberries on your kabobs for a festive Fourth of July!
Yogurt-Covered Strawberries
You just need two ingredients for this delightful treat – fresh strawberries and vanilla yogurt. To make the snack slice the strawberries in half, dip them in yogurt and freeze them. These yogurt covered strawberries are a healthier option to chocolate covered strawberries and are just as tasty!
Summer Salsa
This simple five-ingredient summer salsa is one of my favorites and definitely a crowd pleaser because it’s super flavorful and very filling! All you have to do to make this salsa is dice avocado, tomato and onion, then toss it in a bowl with summer corn and black beans. Serve it with some tortilla chips and munch away!
