I think its fair to say we are all no strangers to a tough time. In different seasons in our lives, things change and it is not always easy to deal with. YouTube has been a tool I’ve found useful in helping me through those times. YouTube platform offers a wide variety of videos that cater to almost everything!
I’ve compiled a list of YouTube channels that I watch when I’m in a tough time in life. Things are not always going to be smooth sailing but we are fortunate to have resources to get through such circumstances. Lets strap in and explore the world of YouTube.
YOU GUYS! If you are in need of a great word this channel is for you! The lead pastor Michael Todd is a young and energetic ball of spiritual wisdom. He translates the Bible into modern terms with out taking away the power of it.
Several times I’ve felt sad, lost and in need of spiritual guidance. Transformation Church always have came through for your girl! He speaks on relationships, individuality and so much more Millennial and Gen-Z problems. Go get a soul refreshment through this channel!
Beautybybemi is another YouTube channel I like to watch when I feel down and out. I love videos about hair and makeup and her channel is the one. She is a young Nigerian woman based out in the U.K. She is known for her hair transformation videos, makeup videos and vlogs.
Her channel mainly focuses on beauty but she does make videos about her life. She has been through her own struggles and watching her talk about it and how she has overcome is a relief to watch. I also love a good hair video! With Bemi, you are sure to learn a thing or two.
This YouTube channel is one for the ladies that like commentary and pop culture. This channel is a great distraction with lots of reaction videos and talk about popular videos. Yanie is an incredible young woman with loads of information as well as opinion.
As a young woman, its refreshing to see someone who is articulate in the same age group speak about topics that are relevant. Her comments are not only entertaining but informative. Need a distraction? Watch her YouTube channel for a pick me up!
This podcast is really awesome! Jay Shetty is very spiritual and he conducts interviews with celebrities about mental and spiritual journeys. When going through rough times, some spiritual and mental wisdom can go a long way.
One of the most notable interviews was the one he did with Khloe Kardashian. It was different to see her speak of her spiritual well being and she even talked about certain situations of hers that were in the press (Tristan Thompson). His interviews are entertaining and informative, he helps show celebrities in a more relatable light. You may learn a thing or two about your favorite celebs and possibly yourself!
When I’m going through a tough time, traveling always pops in my mind. Sometimes being anywhere but where I am sounds good. This YouTube channel is created by two brothers who travels for a living. They not only travel but I love that they inform you on all things travel.
These brothers let you know cost, best hotels, best times of year and much more. They travel to some of the most beautiful places and it makes the heart just light up. There channel is a mental escape for sure!
I love food channels! Especially when I find myself in a bit of a funk. Buzzfeed YouTube channel is full of food series and other things. However, the Worth It series takes the cake to me. They go around trying the same food at different price points. It is so cool and appetizing.
They are LA based so its cool to see restaurants that are basically in my backyard! If you aren’t an LA resident, this is a good way to get to know what options are out here. They do travel all over, so don’t get discouraged. You’ll be so distracted by the humor and food that you won’t realize you’re in a tough time!
Food insider YouTube channel is bomb! They put lots of effort and activity in their videos. They have a fairly large staff and all of them seem to be organic and enthusiastic. This YouTube channel puts travel and food into one coexisting euphoria.
In a tough time, just seeing how enthusiastic people are over food and are bonding lifts my spirit. Their videos are creative and easily addicting to watch! If food and travel are your go-to in a bad season, this one is it!
This YouTube channel is another one for beauty lovers! Christen is a cosmetic owner, wife and mother who balances all three on her YouTube channel. Her personality is so likeable because she is sweet, raw and overall organic with her audience.
Her family videos are funny to watch and her beauty videos are creative. Her personality and creative tips and tricks for makeup will give you a boost of good energy.
This YouTube channel is super entertaining! Justice Cook aka J Cook is a young content creator based out of Arizona. His channel has a little bit of everything. He does pranks, challenges, vlogs and other things. His channel keeps me laughing because he does videos with his hilarious family alot.
He also has shared his relationship troubles and drama on his channel. He seems to be a humble guy with lots of ideas. Either way, his channel is entertaining and you’ll be laughing your way out of a bad mood.
GQ is a notable magazine that has been around for years. They have created a YouTube account that has cool content for the culture! It is loaded with celebrity content that isn’t your regular interview. They do a 10 things celebrities can’t live without, going undercover on different platforms and other cool engaging activity.
This YouTube channel is a great to watch when you are sad because some of these celebrities are hilarious! You can emerse yourself in a different atmosphere with your favorite celebs. This channel is super interactive and has lots of content to choose from! Check them out.
