Your Next Vacation Destination, Based On Your Birth Month
Yearning for your next vacation, but have no idea where to go? In this article, I’ve broken down vacation spots based on your birth month, for a little intuitive inspiration. Despite not discussing the atrological signs in depth, I’ve used my knowledge of the zodiac to help influence my choices. I hope you find a little inspiration in this article for your next vacation destination, and the encouragement to embark on whatever journey that is awaiting you!
January: Kythera, Greece
Most of those that are born in January fall under the Capricorn sign, the astrological sign aligned with ambition and hardwork; ruled by the earth sign, Capricorns are grounded in the earth, fully situated in the real world. For this reason, those born in January would love a vacation in dreamy Kythera, a one-of-a-kind island located in Greece. What’s even better? The rest of the January babies who fall under the sign of Aquarius are free-flowing beings, as transformative as the sea. Kythera is surrounded by beautiful beaches, wherein you are invited to soak up the sun and then float in the glimmering tides. I spent last summer in Kythera and would go back in a heartbeat. Both Avlemonas and Chora are must-see towns, just as Diakofti Beach and Kapsáli Beach are dreamy oases any January baby would appreciate.
February: Cusco, Peru
Cusco, one of Peru’s more popular cities, is the city most closely located to Peru’s beautiful Maccu Picchu. To make it to the top of Maccu Picchu is a quest in and of itself, and a real treat for those driven February babies, who typically have their heart pointing towards bigger and better opportunities. Both a physical workout and a mental retreat, Maccu Picchu is the definition of what it means to find new heights and new insights at the top of a mountain. For those February babies, Maccu Picchu will be a place of transformation and enlightenment.
March: New South Wales, Australia
For all those March babies out there, New South Wales is calling you. Embark on a spiritual journey far away from reality by soaking up the rays on the glorious, sandy beaches of Byron Bay. Most March babies fall under the sign of Pisces, which is both an intuitive and mutable sign. Allow the lulling waters hypnotize you as you squish your toes in the sand, taking a moment or two to just go inward and find, perhaps, something that grounds you, something that lands your mutable spirit. Byron Bay would provide a beautiful retreat away from home to take in different sights and engage all of your senses. There are multiple activities to do in this charming coastal town, all of which would no doubt make for an unforgettable vacation.
April: Patagonia, Chile
April babies are passionate, fiery individuals who would benefit from putting their determination into a vigorous adventure in Patagonia, Chile. This next vacation destination is promised to be a visual wonder, a landscape of such magnificence it’s hard to believe that it even exists. Travel the peaks and valleys of Torres del Paine National Park for a spectacular scene (and good workout!), or travel by boat to the Lake General Carrera, which features the most magical marble cave of cool-coloured tones and hues. Those born in the month of April will appreciate this simultaneously eye- and heart-opening adventure to some of the most beautiful sights in the world.
May: Cotswolds, United Kingdom
Most May babies are born under the sign of Taurus. Individuals born under this sign are typically understood to enjoy relaxing enironments, even pastoral atmospheres, surrounded by serenity and calm. The first vacation destination that sprang to mind was the Cotwolds in England. Sprinkled with lovely English thatched cottages and foliages upon foliages of heavenly gardens and pastel flowers, the Cotwolds is, I believe, the epitome of quiet beauty. Take a walk along the cobblestone roads, maybe poking your head into the small shops in town, or roam the lush countryside, imagining that you’re just on one of your daily strolls back home from the local grocery store. Wherever you go, I like to believe it was where your heart most desired you to go. The Cotswolds is infused with a little bit of magic and miracle, a kind of gentle nudging that unearths your own deepest desires and gives you clarity when you need it most.
June: Kauai, Hawaii
June babies, myself being one of them, fall under either Gemini and Cancer, depending on their birthdate. Geminis are usually considered multi-taskers, always having their hands in different projects or activities, so much so that they wish they could split themselves in two (think the twin Gemini sign) to complete everything. Cancers, comparatively, are typically considered extremely sensitive and adept at feeling all the feels, all the time. In Kauai, Geminis would be able to enjoy many activities but in an environment so beautiful that it’ll challenge them to stop and actually enjoy each activity in which they participate. Cancers, comparatively, will feel a sense of home and safety on this secluded island. Like the crab, Cancers want to know that wherever they go they can find it a refuge. In Kauai, they will find comfort in the warmth of the sun’s rays, as well as be soothed by the gentle lull of the ocean, and nestled within the arms of the giant mountains.
July: Tuscany, Italy
Perhaps the #1 vacation destination on my own bucketlist, Tuscany, to me, is the ultimate dream. Infinite wine and cheese. The softest, golden hues highlighting the salmon and terracotta coloured buildings. The vineyards making the landscape one only created by divine intervention. The pasta. Need I say more? For all of you July babies, do yourself a favour and take a trip to the Tuscan countryside. No ifs, ands, or buts. Just book that plane ticket and prepare yourself to never want to come home.
August: Rio De Janeiro, Brazil
Leos who were born in August would appreciate the vibrant and exciting experience Rio De Janeiro, Brazil has to offer. Rio De Janeiro has so much to offer, from relaxing days on one of its famous beautiful beaches, like Copacabana or Ipanema, or taking excursions to any one of the museums, art galleries, or parks situated within the city. Leos will also love the nightlife Rio has to offer, allowing their bold, lion(ess) selves be fully present and fierce. For the rest of you born in August who don’t fall under the sign of Leo, not to worry, you will find a welcome place for yourself within this electric city and marvel at all it will allow you to experience.
September: Interlaken, Switzerland
Oh, Interlaken. One of the places that I believe is most connected to and likely written as the definition for “Earth,” with its beautiful snow-capped mountains, luscious green landscape, and crystal waters. September babies are going to marvel at the tranquility and breathtaking views of the resort town of Interlaken. Interlaken is situated, as its name reveals, between two lakes, with mountains surrounding from every which way. September symbolizes a period of transition, the time of year moving from summer to fall, having just come after the dog days of summer. As a result, the Virgo sign is mutable, moving with the seasons, as summer transitions into Fall. To keep a September baby’s feet on the ground, hike alongside the mountains in Interlaken and feel every step taken, every breath inhaled and exhaled.
October: New York City, New York
“New York, New York, so good they named it twice.” Every heard that saying? This is another one of those places that has been on my bucketlist for ages. I have such a yearning to explore New York City at its fullest. Libras, the sign that most individuals born in September fall under, are ruled by balance and beauty. New York City, then, was a vacation destination choice based on beautiful and luxurious hotspots while also tipping the Scales toward endless excitement and surprise. New York City is pretty much the spot where there is everything for everyone under the sun, and pockets of history and heritage yearning to be discovered and rediscovered. New York City will subvert your expectations, tip your balance, in the best way possible, so that you can recenter with a new perspective.
November: Madrid, Spain
Those born in November will love the hustling and colourful lifestyle Madrid, Spain has to offer. Madrid is very much a city, surrounded by beautiful architecture, colourful streetart, and unique restaurants just waiting to be tasted. The nightlife in Madrid is one November babies, typically fiery and confident, would revel in; indeed, nightlife might be a bit of a misnomer, since the city’s celebration of all things colourful, artistic, and lively remain open well into the wee hours of the morning. The spirit of Madrid is golden and raw in its nature, the very vacation destination perfect for those willing to have the time of their life.
December: Marrakech, Morrocco
Perhaps one of the other vacation destinations that, like Tuscany, has one of the most divine colour palettes — and even more beautiful landscapes — on Earth, Marrakech, Morocco seems to be the #1 destination of 2019. December babies, who, if born under the sign of the Sagittarius, yearn for knowledge and would relish in the rich culture and vast knowledge just waiting to be explored, both within and outside of the city centre. Speaking of outside the city, take a day trip to the Sahara Desert before coming back to Marrakech, for an experience of a lifetime.
