We all know how fast trends can change. They can come so fast. They can go so fast. Fashion trends change so quickly because people change. We want new always and we are heavily influenced by pop culture, celebrities, social media, etc. It is not hard for us to be steered in another direction. Influencers, like Kim Kardashian, have to create new trends or else they won’t continue being stars. That’s literally why they are called influencers because they influence. Shoes are one of the most favorited fashion pieces. To keep you on track on the trends, I have found 10 trending women’s shoes for 2022.
Platforms made there way back in 2021 and they are here to say in 2022. Everyone’s jaws initially dropped when Lady Gaga wore satin platform heels at a movie premiere. And ever since Dua Lipa and Ariana Grande wore platform sandals, people have fallen in love with them. They have been selling out across several stores’ websites. These shoes are amazing to give you an extra couple inches. Platform sandals are very easy to walk in because you don’t have the heel to hurt your feet all day. If you are younger and want to start to wear heels, platforms are perfect for you. You can find a dupe of the Medusa Versace Platforms shown below at Steve Madden.
Slingbacks give us fond Marilyn Monroe memories. Several designers brands (Prada, Gucci, Saint Laurent) are coming out with beautiful slingback heels, which means that they are going to take over 2022. I remember playing around in my mom’s slingback heels in the early 2000’s like it was yesterday. Slingbacks can be paired with anything because they are so minimalistic. You can go to work in your pencil skirt and slingback heels. You can even wear them with jeans on a Friday night date.
If you haven’t seen them on the street yet, yes, they are indeed back. Whether you are for it or against it, Uggs are being worn by countless celebrities. If you live in a colder area, this is may be music to your ears. The Mini Styles are more for a fashion moment than comfort. You can pair them with jeans or leggings. Another Ugg style that is going wild is the platform Uggs. They have came out with several different types of Ugg platforms. These are easier to take outdoors because if they’re platforms I guess it just makes it okay somehow.
I am pleased to say that cowboy boots will still be here for 2022. These boots can make any outfit fun and cool. I got a white knee-high Billini Cowboy boots and couldn’t be happier. You can pair cowboy boots with a shirtdress, jeans, skirt, or even a mini dress. The options are endless. Celine is selling cowboy boots that are shown in the photo below but you dupes from places like Amazon or Billini.
Loafers are an amazing neutral shoe. You can wear them with anything: pants, skirt, dress. They are a functional shoe that you need in your closet. Loafers have always reminded me of a school girl aesthetic, which I absolutely love. Don’t be afraid to show your socks with these shoes because they actually go together well. You can find the photo shown below at Prada. If you are looking for dupes, there are some at Princess Polly.
Because of Bottega Veneta, mules have been back for a couple seasons but they don’t look like they’re going away any time soon. But they are going to be sparklier and more fun this year. To look like the 90’s style mule, people will search for the a block heel instead of a thinner one. You can pair your mules with a suit for work. Low mules look amazing with a midi skirt and white shirt. If you want to wear a pair of higher mules, put on a dress for date night. My absolute favorite would probably wearing mules with blue jeans and a fun top. If you are looking for affordable mules go to ASOS or Steve Madden. The photo below are Dolce & Gabbana Mules.
Influencers are strutting around in ballet flats again. It started with the Row first showing them off on the catwalk, which means everyone else will follow suit. If you are interested in getting yourself a pair of ballet flats, you should grab pointy toe or ones with ankle wrap. Like loafers, these shoes can go with everything. You can find dupes of the ballet flats below at DSW.
Clogs remind me of 70’s/90’s fashion. The wood in these shoes makes them even more dependable and comfortable. These shoes can be amazing for winter because it is so cold outside and clogs warm your feet right up. You can pair clogs with jeans and a jacket for your winter outings. When summer comes around, you can wear your clogs with flowy pants or dresses. The clogs below are Bottega Veneta but you can find more affordable clogs at Nordstrom.
Keep your eye out for Mary Jane Pumps because everyone is wearing them. These heels will be popular to say the least. These adorable shoes give y2k and school girl vibes. Wear these with a mini skirt and tights and they will be chef’s kiss. The photo shown below is from Miu Miu but you can find many dupes from Steve Madden.
You heard it right. Rubber shoes will be having their spotlight. Crocs, which were once named the worst invention by Time magazine, has soared across the charts the last year. Since the Pandemic began, people valued comfort, low prices, and the planet more than ever before. Rubber shoes are those three things. These shoes are biodegradable, low in price, and comfy. You can pair these shoes with sweats or leggings. Something casual is preferable. The shoe shown below is Balenciaga x Crocs. You can find Crocs at Outlet Stores or Dick’s.
