Why The Most Perfect Looking Couples Aren’t Always #RelationshipGoals

mm
We all admire to look like those perfect looking couples we see on social media. Often times, we refer to them or tag them as #relationshipGoals, when we don't know what the relationship is really like.

In today’s society, people are consumed with wanting what other people’s relationships looks like, emphases on “looks like”. #RelationshipGoals, has become a notorious and immensely used hashtag that people use to caption pictures of the most perfect looking couples they admire. Here’s the problem though, nine times out of the ten the couple that is being hash-tagged as “relationship goals”, shouldn’t be so at all.

Social media has become the number one way that couples post all their lovey dovey pictures and good times with their significant other.

People who are single, just got out of a bad relationship or currently in a shitty relationship, see thus said pictures and instantly fall in love with the couple and want what that couple appears to have. Let’s make something very clear, unless you are in a relationship with Jesus, no one has a “perfect” relationship that will constitute as relationship goals.

Every relationship goes through various different trials, tribulations, ups, downs and so forth.

There is not a couple alive who will say that their relationship is perfect. And it is rare to find a couple that will even put the mark of “relationship goals” on themselves.

You never know what people’s relationships are truly unlike unless you know them personally.

And you never know what that couple had to endure to get to being “relationship goals”. Yet, people still will stamp #relationshipgoals on a couple because their IG pictures “show” how much of a fun and great looking couple they are. You could be saying that a couple is “relationship goals” while the woman in the relationship is getting beat on every day or cheated on profusely.

It is totally fine to admire the characteristics and love shown in someone else’s relationship. We all love Barack and Michelle and would classify them as “relationship goals” but, we don’t know what they deal with behind closed doors. So, never base your “relationship goals” solely off what another couple “looks” like.
