Fall is just around the corner, that means anything involving pumpkins and Halloween will be displayed everywhere! Fall is the season to indulge in pumpkin spice lattes and buy tons of pumpkin candles from Bath and Body Works. I personally don’t see the hype for the Pumpkin spice latte, it’s the infamous Basic Bitch Drink. It’s totally fine to enjoy pumpkin spice lattes but some people take their love for the drink to a whole other level!
I am all over the pumpkin pie and candles, but how does someone make it possible to drink a Pumpkin spice latte everyday! You either gotta have a fast metabolism or endless amounts of Starbucks gift cards. If you’re someone curious about the pumpkin spice latte hype or never tried it, this article is for you! Here are the reasons why I’m not excited for the pumpkin spice latte to come back!
Latte’s usually cost around $4.25 for an average size. I’ve seen people order two large pumpkin spice lattes with whipped cream and extra flavors at Starbucks. That will cost you between $8-$9! If you’re on a budget and not trying to hurt your bank account stick with a tall or go to Dunkin Donuts. Yes, DD will give you their version of the pumpkin spice latte which is OVERLY sweet, but you’ll be saving money! This is a reason why I’m not excited for the pumpkin spice latte to come back!
The latte isn’t best for those looking to slim down or eat clean. If you’re looking for a daily latte, STAY AWAY from this drink!!! The PSL is more of a cheat drink or treat to occasionally treat yourself. The drink is high in carbs and sugar plus some barista’s go crazy with the whipped cream. If you must drink this latte, switch out the milk or get a small. Create your own version of the PSL at home, you will be in control of what put into your drink! This is a reason why I’m not excited for the pumpkin spice latte come back!
The pumpkin spice season is a Barista’s worst fear. Winter and seasonal drinks are hard to make and ordered by customers more than regular drinks like an iced coffee. My friends who work at Starbucks complain about customers who order seasonal drinks. Seasonal drink customers usually over exaggerate the order and can be rude to some baristas because their latte isn’t hot enough (Yes someone has complained about their latte not being hot enough). This is a reason why I’m not excited for the pumpkin spice latte come back!
Honestly, It’s not the best drink I’ve ever had. The PSL taste like a drinkable version of pumpkin pie! There are levels to the fall pumpkin trend. I’ll stick to buying the candles and eating pie before I buy another pumpkin spice latte. The pumpkin spice latte doesn’t satisfy my taste buds. We all have likes and dislikes, this latte is on my list of dislikes. Anyone who can drink this latte as a daily coffee drink must have a fast metabolism and high sugar craving. I’ll stick to my ice coffees and regular lattes. The basic bitches can call me a hater but at least I’m not basic! This is a reason why I’m not excited for the pumpkin spice latte to come back!
