It is finally getting warmer which means it is about time to take your vacations to the beach. From sunscreen to towels, it can be difficult to pack your bag to visit the ocean. There are so many essentials that you should have on hand, that it can be hard to keep track of.
Hopefully, this list gives you some ideas, and helps you prepare for you days in the sunshine!
This term umbrellas a few different items. First and foremost, please put on your sunscreen. This is such an important step. Not only are sunburns the absolute worst thing ever, but damaging your skin in the long run is not worth skipping a simple step. Always lather up!
If you like getting tan, don’t be afraid to bring your tanning oil as well. Just make sure you have applied your sunscreen prior.
Bring your sunglasses. The last thing you’ll want to be doing all day is squinting. Protect your eyes.
It also wouldn’t hurt to find an SPF lip balm that you enjoy. The sun can dry out your lips really fast, so protect them and keep them moisturized.
While sitting on the beach and enjoying the day, you’ll want your phone to take pictures, listen to music, amongst other things. The last thing you would want is a dead phone.
Bring a portable charger with you in your bag, so you don’t have to worry about this being an issue. This has saved me more times than I can count.
You never know when that time of the month could drop in on you. Be prepared. Back a bag with tampons and pads to make sure that you are ready for anything.
Sometimes, catching some rays can be rather boring… especially if you aren’t able to just sit and relax like me.
To keep yourself entertained, find a good book or a few magazines to read. This is a great way to help yourself relax, all while avoiding feeling bored out of your mind.
Don’t bring you entire wallet, but you should bring some cash with you. Whether you want to go grab lunch on the boardwalk, or spur of the moment plans pop up to go out to dinner later, you want to make sure that you do have some money just incase.
If you lay out on a towel, you might want to think about bringing an extra towel with you. If you decide to go into the water, this towel can be for you to dry off, so you don’t have to use the towel that has sand on it.
THIS MIGHT BE ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS TO PACK!
I can’t stress enough how important it is to make sure that you are staying hydrated throughout the day. If you don’t drink enough water, you might become hydrated and feel very sick later in the day. You can also get a headache. All together, it’s not a good situation.
If you want your water to stay cold longer, through your bottles in the freezer overnight. Or, a Yeti is a great option as well.
I don’t know what it is about being in the sun, but I always get hungry quickly. My favorite snacks to pack in my beach bag include fruit salad or granola bars.
Of course, it’s up to you what you decide to bring.
This is a great way to save some money for yourself. If you bring your own food, you don’t need to buy more every time you get peckish.
