What To Do When He Flakes On Plans
On any level, being stood up is one of the worst feelings in the world. Sometimes, your beloved boyfriends simply forgets about tonight’s plans. Other times, the cutie you met at the party never texts back. And then there are the occasions when you arrive at the restaurant all dressed up, and he never makes an entrance. Whatever the occasion, here are five things to do when he flakes on plans as told by Cinderella.
1. Sulk a little.
Write an angry letter. Scream into a pillow. Cry if you need to. You may be feeling disappointed, angry, and sad, and that’s ok. Don’t hold these feelings in because it will only make things worse. Take some time to let out your emotions and collect yourself.
2. Go out anyway.
Wear your cutest outfit and dance the night away. Eat a fabulous dinner all by yourself. Go to the nearest Starbucks and treat yourself to your favorite drink. Don’t let any boy drag you down for too long, and certainly don’t end your special day because he doesn’t show.
3. Go to the gym.
Run an extra mile on the treadmill or lift some weights to release your anger. Try taking a yoga class to calm down. Relish in the silence of the pool. Channeling your emotions into exercise will work dual benefits – acting both as a distraction and a healthy way to make you feel better.
4. Enjoy nature.
If the idea of the gym is not as appealing, walk around outside to enjoy the fresh air and feel rejuvenated by nature. Sit down and meditate. Watch the birds, walk your dog, and simply appreciate all the beauty life has to offer.
5. Find your true friends.
Vent to your girlfriends. Spend time with family. Make the people who prioritize you a priority in your life. Turn to those who nurture you, and then, when their time comes, allow them to lean on you too.
When he flakes on plans, don’t let it ruin your mood. Turn it into a way to treat yourself and celebrate life. You don’t need anyone to make you feel beautiful or happy.
