What To Do If You Think You’re Burning Out

Life is a constant balancing act, with many of us trying to juggle so many different things at once. It’s very easy to burn yourself out in a short space of time, and it can be difficult to get yourself back on track. Here’s our advice for what to do if you think you’re burning out.

1. Stop the cycle

Take some time for yourself – take an evening to just do whatever it is you actually want to do. Have a bath, binge watch a TV show, order take out – do whatever but just give yourself a chance to switch off.

2. Sort out your priorities

You need to start prioritising your health over everything else, and you also need to look at what you do in a week and see if there’s anything you can drop. You might love your 6 hours a week volunteering at the charity shop, but that’s six hours of your time that you could use elsewhere. Dropping anything you can that causes unnecessary stress will leave you feeling a lot better.

Remember that above all else, your physical and mental health is the most important thing. Try to eat well, get enough sleep and take some time out every week for yourself.
