What Dorm Room Decor Palette You Should Choose According To Your Zodiac

Decorating your dorm is always fun but deciding how you should actually decorate can be difficult, especially when you have a ton of ideas. So why not pick your dorm room decor palette based on your zodiac?

Your zodiac can say a lot about you and it’s been scientifically proven that colors have a profound effect on your mental state, so it’s important that you choose colors in your dorm that will make you happy.

1. Aries

Your color palette should fall into the warmer colors, you are passionate, motivated, and confident, and your room should reflect that. You should stick to colors like red and pink, that will show off your bold personality. But feel free to mix in some softer tones, it’s important to find a nice blend that will make you feel at home.  

2. Taurus

As an earth sign, you should stick to earth-tone colors. Some nice greens and maybe a light pink would look good in your room. You’re known for having a love of beauty, artistry, luxury, and comfort, and your room should depict that. Don’t be afraid to show off your more frivolous side, living with colors and decorations that show your love of comfort will make you feel at home in your dorm.

3. Gemini

Geminis are known to fun, outgoing, and intelligent. With you, there’s never a dull moment, so your room shouldn’t be dull either. You should decorate your room with sunset colors to show off your radiant personality, as well as adding a bit of fun to the room. Plus, these colors are not so bright that they won’t keep you up at night, it is a sunset after all!

4. Cancer

Known to be intuitive and caring, Cancers are also known to be sensitive. You should stick to pastel colors, to keep your room soft and welcoming. As a water element, these colors will soothe you and help you to stay calm during midterms and finals, but they are bright enough to make you feel happy in your home away from home.

5. Leo

Just like a lion and a crackling fire, Leos tend to be warm, passionate, and dynamic. You’re also known for having a bold personality, never letting a chance to shine through go. Therefore, your room should be just as bright as you are. Stick to warm and bright colors to show off that same personality, and your vibrant room will be the go-to spot.

6. Virgo

As a Virgo, you are logical, practical, and systematic, and your room will most likely reflect that. You should stick to soft and neutral tones and incorporate green, because as an earth element, this will grant you serenity and peace after moving into a new place. You’re also known to be a perfectionist, and these colors will easily accommodate any changes you make to your dorm, as your bound to keep picking at things.

7. Libra

Libra, you’re known for being charming, beautiful, and well-balanced, you love making things look aesthetically pleasing. You’re also known for being a tad self-indulgent. However, this could come in handy when decorating your room. You should stick to pink and purple hues as they highlight your values of beauty and they can also be easily adaptive fitting into your aesthetically perfect and lovely room. Fit for a queen!

8. Scorpio

Scorpios are often brave, ambitious, determined, and sometimes a little secretive. You should stick to darker hues when decorating your room. As a water sign, this will bring you comfort, as the depth of the colors will envelop your room, making is a safe haven for you. You can get away from the business and hustle of your school and retreat to your comfortable room. These colors are sure to provide you with the perfect color palette for your dorm room.

9. Sagittarius

A Sagittarius personality is often characterized by someone who is sophisticated, intelligent, and kind. However, as a fire sign, you pride yourself on being unique. You should choose a color scheme with warmer tones, as these will comfort both you as a fire sign, and your love of sophistication. You don’t need anything flashy or bold, but rather something that will make you feel at home in your new dorm room. These colors offer you both warmth and sophistication, which will make you happy as you navigate your way through university.

Capricorns are known for being “worker bees” so you need a room that can accommodate your need to have a good study space, and a home-like atmosphere. You don’t mind working hard, but it’s nice to have a place to come back to that can offer you the chance to relax, or at least get in a couple hours of sleep. Being organized and practical, you should stick with a neutral color scheme, with nude hues to offer you a space that looks and feels clean and organized.

11. Aquarius

Although you are extremely friendly and enjoy making friends, you also value privacy and it’s important that your room is your own personal space. However, you are known to be innovative, and you like to pursue unique things, therefore your room should reflect that. You should use a soft blue/purple color scheme, which will give you a private space to express your creativity and is welcoming enough that when you do bring back friends to your room, they feel at home. As an air sign, these colors should offer you a sense of calm.

12. Pisces

Your personality is complex, your creative, and empathetic, but you’re also known to be over-sensitive and impressionable. Tap into your creative side when decorating your dorm room and choose colors that are specific to you. However, as a water sign, you would feel comfortable with this colorful mix, with a touch of blue. These colors give you a chance to be creative with your room décor, as they are diverse, yet they flow together.
