Weddings are one of the most stressful things to plan. You do not have to have been married or have a fiance to know that. You have the venue to think about. Do you want your wedding inside or outside? Next are the guests. How many people do you want there? Family? Friends? Any co-workers or colleagues? Neighbors or long-distance relatives? The list continues. You have catering and the baker to think about? What do you want to be served at your wedding? Fish? Steak? Chicken? What about those who are vegetarian, or on a gluten-free diet? Next is the cake. How many tiers do you want? How do you want it to be decorated? Chocolate or vanilla? Buttercream or fondant? Now, do not get me started on centerpieces. Planning a wedding can be stressful. Luckily, here is a list of ten wedding planning hacks that can help you out and give you some tips.
As I stated before, weddings are one of the most stressful events to plan, for anyone. That is generally why many couples hire a wedding planner so that they have someone who carries the load for you, rather than you, yourself. However, having a wedding planner does not necessarily mean that you still not going to receive emails, regarding your wedding, and when you open those emails you are likely to become overwhelmed. Just by looking at the prices, wondering if everything is correct and in order, etc. This is why I highly suggest creating a wedding-only email. That way, you will not have to look through your email every day, trying to sort out which email is which.
While you write, type, or print your RSVP cards and send them out, be sure to write a small number on the back of each card. That way, when your guests respond it will be easier for you and your fiance to count how many of your guests are coming.
While scrolling through Pinterest, I found a pin, in which someone posted a tip for newlyweds. It said to send an invite to every billionaire whose address you can find. The reason for this is because you have a 50/50 chance of their assistants send you a perfunctory gift without knowing who you are.
Cutting the wedding cake is one of the first acts done as a couple, at the reception, and even though it is just a cake you may want to check with your baker as to how to make the first cut. You would not want to cut the wrong tier and cause your cake tower to crumble. Also, be sure to use the knife instead of the server, when cutting the cake, to make the smoothest cut. This may sound obvious to some but to others, it is not.
5. Rough Up Your Wedding Shoes
New wedding shoes are often forgotten when it comes to being worn in. Just like any new pair of heels, sandals, or flats, your wedding shoes are likely to give you blisters and cause you to slip on the dance floor if they are not worn in, prior. An easy way to do this is to grab a piece of sandpaper and rub it against the back of your heels. Voila! How is that for a wedding hack?
One of the wedding hacks I found online was to avoid eating any dairy a few days before the wedding. The bride-to-be said that she did this to avoid bloating during and after the wedding. While conducting my research I found that dairy is one of the most common food sensitivities that cause and leads to bloating gas, and cramps. So keep the odds in your favor and avoid consuming a dairy a few days before your wedding. I will say a week, just in case.
Before your wedding day, schedule a boudoir photoshoot. There you can have a photographer take some picture of wearing your veil, and little to nothing else. Here is the fun part. Before the wedding starts, have your maid of honor deliver one of the pictures taken from the photoshoot to your fiance, discreetly.
When it comes to the reception, be sure to have an extra pair of shoes available. Flats, converse, sandals, or have none at all and rock the dance floor barefoot. All I am saying is that you might want a spare pair there. Just in case. Those heels of yours may be the spitting image of the moonlight. However, I promise they will not be your best friend to come for two hours of dancing at the reception.
It is the day before the wedding and everyone is getting nervous and tense. Take this day, for you and your wedding party, and go out for a pre-wedding field day. Everyone can come in athletic gear and just have a fun time with each other. Maybe play a game of flag football, volleyball, water balloon games, or have a pie-eating contest. You get what I mean. Anyway, this way the groomsmen and bridesmaids can get acquainted and get to know each other before the wedding. No bridesmaid or groomsmen like the awkward tension between each other when walking down the aisle or coming together in something special for the bride and groom.
The last wedding hack I want to suggest to keep your lipstick ready on your person, or at your table. You have to keep those cherry lips going until the end of the night. You would not want your lips to look dull or not pop come to the spontaneous pictures guests will no doubt want to take with you.
