10 Wedding Finger Foods That Will Be Loved By All The Guests

Wedding finger foods are the best food to be found at weddings. For me, they are just much more exciting than dinner or the cake. Maybe it is because they are served in the absence of expectation and impatience right when you need it most. Or because you are free to move around and chat casually with whomever you choose while you eat it. Or maybe it is because they are so cute, delicious, and easy to stuff in your mouth.

Cucumber and Hummus

If you are going to be busy getting married and nobody can help you with preparing the food, this recipe will be perfect! These mini bites of salad also act as their own plates so this snack is both zero waste and zero clean up. Cut a cucumber into slices thick enough to support a heaping pile of hummus. Then, top the slices with heaping piles of hummus! If you want to make things more difficult, make your own hummus from scratch.

Potstickers

Wrap your own dumplings or buy them ready-made. Line them up neatly in a cast iron pan and fry them in a bit of oil. If they are frozen, add water so that it comes a third of the way up the dumplings and cover so that they can cook in the steam. When the tops of the dumpling wrappers start becoming transparent, fry them uncovered until the bottoms are browned and crusty. These are perfect to eat in a maximum of two bites.

Blue Cheese Stuffed Olives

This is another one that you can make yourself or buy ready-made. If you are making them yourself, you can prepare them ahead of time. Buy the biggest pitted olives you can find; the bigger the olive, the cheesier it will be. Also, it just looks cool to serve glossy gargantuan olives at a party. Get some good blue cheese and spend the next hour smearing blue cheese into the olives in front of Harry Potter and Philosopher’s Stone. Remember to open a window!

Pizza Flatbread

Start with some flatbread from a local bakery. Top with your favourite ingredients; for example, you can use peppers, tomatoes, spinach, and different kinds of cheese. Decide if you want pizza sauce on the base of your flatbread (before you add the toppings), or if you would like to have a dry pizza flatbread and serve it with a selection of dipping sauces. The plus side of serving the sauce on the side is that the pizza has no chance of getting soggy. Stick them in a hot oven until the cheese melts (no need to worry about the dough). Cut them widthwise into rough triangles.

Mini Jacket Potatoes

This is one of the starchiest wedding finger foods. Halve some baby or fingerling potatoes and toss them in olive oil, salt, and pepper. Roast them in the oven until they are thoroughly cooked and finish off with some butter. Once they cool down, arrange them face up on the serving plate and top with a dollop of sour cream. Finish with fresh dill.

Goat Cheese Peppers

Buy some small sweet peppers and cut them into bite-sized pieces. Try to maintain their scoop-like form. Grill them until they are tender and smear a spoonful of goat cheese on each piece. Finish with freshly ground pepper and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.

Pomegranate Feta Bagel Chips

In place of basic bagel chips, you can use crisp flatbread, melba toast, or cucumbers! But if you want a chilled-out option for your wedding finger foods, use bagel chips. Mix feta with olive oil with a whisk or a mixer until it has a whipped consistency. Top each bagel chip, or whatever vessel you choose, with the mixture and add some cucumber to each of the snowy, cheesy mountains so that they look like little emeralds glinting in the wedding lights.

Endive Boats

Cut off the ends of the endives and separate them into individual spears. Cut some apples into tiny pieces and combine with blue cheese or any soft cheese of your choice. Don’t peel the apples because the colours will look so beautiful when it is finished. Fill each boat with this mixture (not too much because the cheese may be overly-stinky and overwhelming). These wedding finger foods are ready to set sail!

Sticky Barbecued Meatballs

Start with some meatballs (plant-based so that even your vegan guests can eat them). Start cooking the meatballs in the oven. In a pot, gently boil barbecue sauce, brown sugar, and a splash of balsamic vinegar. When the meatballs are halfway cooked, toss them in this sauce and put them back in the oven. Serve them on cocktail skewers.

Walnut Dates

For a wedding finger food dessert, serve this plant-based option. Slice open the medjool date and remove the pit. Wedge a whole (shelled) walnut in its place. The nuts can be raw or lightly toasted. Alternatively, you can use pecans. The sweet taste and rich texture of the date and the crisp earthy walnut result in a perfectly complementary combination.

These wedding finger foods will leave you with plenty of extra time to get married and will satisfy your guests. To make the cheesy options plant-based, replace the cheese with nut butters for a similar creamy texture. Even if you are not getting married, these finger-foods will be delicious for parties or nights in.
