Websites and Apps To Try If Your Clueless About Cooking

For chefs like Bobby Flay, cooking might come naturally and easy. However, for the rest of us, just the thought of preparing anything might seem a bit overwhelming.

Many recipes that you see on the Food Network and cook books might seem quite intense with the amount of instructions and ingredients that you don’t even use.

Luckily, I found some very helpful Websites and Apps To Try For the Clueless Cook.

Enjoy!

Supercook.com

This website is perhaps my best recommendation for those who are not only beginners when it comes to cooking but also for anyone wants to make tasty dishes on a budget.

Supercook.com is a website that allows you to make a variety of different recipes using ONLY the ingredients that you have ingredients right in your own kitchen! This means, no more running to-and-fro from home to the grocery store for a complex recipe. No more buying a bunch of ingredients that you’ll likely NEVER use again!

Additionally, you have the option to customize what type of dish you are in the mood for, from dietary options, key ingredients, meal type, and cuisines.

Eat This Much

Eat This Much (website and app) is a personalized meal planner that will customize what you eat based on food preferences, budget, and schedule. With the calorie counter, you can easily reach your diet and/or nutritional goals.

As you may have guessed from my Supercook recommendation, I hate to have to deal with any type of meal planner that only gives me options with ingredients that I don’t use on a regular basis. With Eat This Much, it not only provides me dietary options but I also allows me to refresh the meal plan if its something that I don’t like, and suggest another option.

Tasty

Tasty is an app and website that has simple and easy tutorials for a variety of different types of dishes. When I first came across their YouTube channel, I noticed that almost all of them seem to have very practical and easy recipes.

This also has step-by-step instructions on how to cook every single recipe. You can get recommendations for your next meal based on the day, the week, and even major holidays. Personalize your options to your liking such as with dietary needs, difficulty, speed, and types of cuisines.

I think it might be better to have the app in hand more than watching videos on YouTube because you can access everything with just the click of your finger. I also like that the app keeps your phone awake, so you don’t have to worry about it falling asleep while you cook.

Yum

This app is very similar to Tasty. It provides recipes and videos, showing you step-by-step instructions. Just like Tasty, you can personalize your dietary needs. It’s also similar to Supercook because you can enter the ingredients that you have from your refrigerator, then the app will provide you with recipes that match.

One unique thing about Yum is that you can add entire recipes to your grocery list.

NYT Cooking

I really like this app because even though its very similar to the other apps previously mentioned, such as having a wide variety of recipes and video tutorials and instructions, its a lot more specific when it comes to the categories of meals.

With  Supercook and Tasty, you had basic cuisines like Mexican, Indian, or Meditarrian but with this app, there are so many more categories such as African, Austrian, Indonesian, South American, and even Jewish.

There are even more categories such as recipes that require one pot, slow cook, barbeque, and even pressure cook. Meal types include weekday, for two, and main course.

I do have to mention that with this app, you would have to pay for it either monthly or annually, however, I don’t think that the price is bad at all, and I think that the overall quality that you are being provided is completely worth it. If you are really serious about creating a homecooked meal, this app, as well as the others I mentioned, can tailor to all of your cooking necessities.

Have you ever tried any of these tools to help you in the kitchen? If so, was it any help? Perhaps you’re not a clueless cook after all.

Comment down below to share a yummy recipe that you’ve tried by using one of these tools, and maybe share your cooking secrets!
