Being as though I am five foot six inches, I don’t personally deal with this issue. However, I do have many friends that strive to visually lengthen themselves…and experience some trouble trying to style their booties without looking like their (already short) legs have been cut in half. That’s why I’ve put together a few tips on how to wear these trendy shoes and really pull off the look…even if you have short legs!
If you have short leg, you need to be aware of the clothes that you wear and the shapes and lengths that are created from them. For instance, shorter girls shouldn’t wear long dresses or longer shirts with booties. This is because the garments work against you, and causes you to look more square shaped than rectangular shaped. That being said, showing more leg will always help you to look taller. Pair a blouse with high-waisted shorts and your ankle boots and you’re good to go!

If the weather is colder and showing skin isn’t an option for you, think about colors. If you buy black booties and pair them with black leggings, this will give the illusion that you are taller than you actually are.

Not all of us were born to walk in heels – but if you have short legs, it’s certainly a plus if you can manage the added lift. If you’re feeling daring, go for an ankle boot with a heel – the taller the heel, the taller the you.

Opt for booties that stop at the ankle, rather than mid calf. The taller booties will crop your leg into sections and make you look stumpy. By going with an ankle boot that stops at or below the ankle, those who have short legs will create the effect of longer gams.

Don’t wear bright jeans because they will draw attention to the fact that you have short legs. Instead, go for a dark wash jean. Better yet, try a high-waisted jean (they make your legs look longer), possibly in the same color as your boot (look at tip #2), and top them off with a crop top turtleneck, and you’re ready to hit the streets of New York!
