1. They don’t defend you.
Ever gotten into an argument around your “friend” and they just standby? Yeah, chances are, that person isn’t your friend. A real friend is going to stand up for their pal.
2. You two argue more times than not.
Finding yourself in constant conflict with your friend is not only toxic, but a definite red flag that your friend is indeed not your friend.
3. They talk about you.
While it may be blown off as being a good friend, if you are constantly being challenged by what you do, have on, or say, then you guessed it, that person is not genuine. If this happens, it’s clear that there’s some jealousy lying within the person toward you.
4. They befriend your enemies.
This is pretty obvious, but if your friend is hanging with the enemy, chances are, they are your FRENIMY. Being that your enemies are just that, if they talk about you, that “friend” may be doing so as well.
5. They act shady.
Not talking to you while being around a specific crowd is a prime example of shadiness. A real buddy is going to talk you regardless of the situation or crowd.
6. You don’t communicate.
What friend isn’t going to want to talk to you at all times? A fake one. Priorities like school, work, and extracurriculars are exempt, but other than that, communication should be prominent, especially if you plan to maintain the friendship.
