10 Ways To Style Slip-On Vans

Wearing heels all day every day can be draining. I know there are days I just want to wear sneakers.

Years ago, wearing slip-on shoes used to be considered fashion suicide. They were the shoes your grandma wore or the shoe people would wear in hospitals. They just weren’t shoes that college students would even consider wearing.

Now, you really can’t go anywhere without seeing someone rocking a pair of slip-on Vans. They are beyond comfortable and they aren’t shoes that are going to break the bank. They come in a ton of different styles, colors, patterns, etc. and they match with just about every outfit.

I’m not saying that they are meant to wear with a ball gown, but vans can be either dressed up or down. The nice thing about them is you can rock them with almost every piece of clothing. They are great for running errands, going to class, going to the mall, even wearing to a dage or darty.

Slip-on Vans are just comfortable go-to shoes. Unlike regular sneakers, they can be dressed up a little bit more than Nike kicks. Which is what makes them so much more appealing.

To be completely honest, they don’t even have to be Vans. Any slip-on shoe can work in this case. Steven Madden has its own line; Michael Kors has its own version; even Target has a ton of comfortable slip-on shoes. The point is just how to style them, what to wear with them, and what looks good.

These 10 different ways are perfect for any occasion you have coming up. They are super popular right now so I’m sure you already have a pair laying around in your closet. If you want to learn how to style slip-on Vans, then keep reading.

1. Joggers

Joggers are just amazing in general, but they even look good with slip-on Vans. I haven’t worn sweat pants in years. Personally, I prefer to dress up and even though wearing jeans isn’t comfortable for everybody, wearing sweatpants was never comfortable for me. But joggers have become a major part of my life. They are comfortable and have more of a stylish look to them than regular sweatpants. Wearing joggers with a pair of slip-on Vans is a vibe. It has a cool-girl look in my opinion and a look that anyone can pull off. Pair it with a t-shirt and denim jacket or if you really want to be casual, throw on your favorite college hoodie.

2. All White

For some reason, all-white outfits are so appealing to me. Which is why I think everyone should own white slip-on Vans. Style them with a pair of white denim jeans and a white t-shirt. Wearing all white gives off a really put-together look. Even if you want to look fancier, the white Vans will go with that outfit. White outfits can be worn for just about everything but if you’re going out to a casual dinner, it’s a great and easy look.

3. Socks

In college, a huge look would be to wear a pair of socks that would come up just above your ankle and have them tucked into a pair of leggings. Then slip on a pair of gray Vans and you’re good to go. It has a more put-together look than just wearing leggings and Vans. You could pair this with a sweatshirt, off the shoulder tunic or even just a t-shirt. It’s totally up to you, but it definitely is a great outfit for class because it’s more casual and comfortable. Especially the checkered slip-on vans because they definitely give off a cool vibe.

4. Dress

Wearing a flow shift dress and a pair of slip-on vans has become a major trend. It’s a good way to dress down a sundress if you aren’t going to be going anywhere fancy. Going on a walk in the park or to grab coffee are two examples of where this outfit is appropriate. Sneakers are just more comfortable so ditch the sandals and pair your dress with some white slip-on vans.

5. Girlfriend Jeans

Wearing skinny jeans and Vans is no longer a trend. No shade if you like that look but it doesn’t always work for everybody. Instead, try matching together a pair of slip-on Vans with some girlfriend or boyfriend denim. It’s more relaxed and can also be dressed up. You can wear a graphic t-shirt with lots of layered jewelry or even just a long sleeve depending on your mood and occasion. Either way, wearing some baggier denim can really make your shoes stand out.

6. Checkered Pants

Checkered pants took a back seat for a while but now they are back and everybody is rocking them. They used to be reserved for the office workers but now can be worn out and about, which I love. What I also love is wearing a pair of checkered pants with some slip-on Vans. The pants make a big statement and you don’t want to overdo it by wearing pumps unless you’re wearing this on a night out. For a more relaxed but still dressy look, you could pair the pants with vans and a basic white t-shirt.

7. Skirts

Skirts are great for attending day drinks. They are trendy and can be thrown on with just about anything. But wearing a graphic t-shirt and some slip-on vans takes the look to a whole other level. You could even pair it with those skinny sunglasses that everybody secretly loves. Or if you want to change up the whole dynamic, wear a print skirt. Try something with cheetah or leather print, then pair with your favorite pair of slip-on Vans.

8. Mesh Socks

I’m not sure if everybody has jumped on this bandwagon, but if you haven’t, you’re going to want to. This is a great way to dress up your Vans if you are going somewhere but aren’t really a heel-wearing girl. Roll up whatever pants you’re wearing so your socks are able to show. Pair your favorite slip-on vans with some mesh socks. Even fishnet socks would look great for this. Or a pair of sparkly ones if you really are looking to get dressed up. It takes your outfit to the next level and looks super cute.

This look is a classic and will be something that can be worn for any event that isn’t meant to be dressed up for. Wearing your favorite pair of ripped jeans and throwing on a pair of slip-on vans is not only a practical outfit but its also really cute. You’ll look good and will be comfortable. The good thing is, you can wear this with any shirt. A graphic T, a sweatshirt, a blouse—any type of shirt will go with this classic look.

Mixing comfortable with business has been something that’s become more and more popular. It’s also something that many people are accepting more and more. Years ago, you would never wear sneakers with a blazer and pants but now? In 2019? Nobody gives a shit and it’s amazing. So pair your favorite blazer and dress pants with some slip-on Vans for a casual day in the office. It’s a great outfit if you have to walk to work too.
