Ever had those moments when you are thinking – all I want to do is lie in bed for the whole day? Bed sounds like the best thing for you and the only thing that will make you happy.
Life can be difficult sometimes. Life can be hard. A lot of the time life is not your best friend. It can be difficult on those days to get out of bed. All you want to do is go to sleep. However, it is important you don’t go back to sleep. Here are 7 ways to stay motivated when all you want to do is sleep.
Go for a walk, go for a run, do some yoga, go for a swim. Exercise makes your body produce endorphins. Endorphins are the feel-good hormone helping reduce stress and anxiety, boost your mood and improve your sleep. Get out of bed and make exercise the activity you do first thing in the morning. People often say exercise for at least 30 minutes a day. By doing this, you will feel refreshed and it will make you feel better for the day ahead.
By writing down a list of goals every day and knowing how you feel after you hit each one can help you stay motivated. But, it is important to focus on each task one at a time. If you end up multi-tasking, it can take a lot of mental energy to focus your mind after being distracted. Just remember the fulfilment you experience at the end of the day after knowing your list of goals is complete!
Don’t bombard your schedule with lots of things to do in the day. Accomplishment is a significant feeling when all you want to do is lie in bed and sleep. Make sure you congratulate yourself for doing every task, no matter how small or mundane. It is great even if you do one or two tasks in the day. This will help improve your confidence and your motivation to get out of bed.
Motivation doesn’t happen with a click of the fingers, it happens over time. Having a sense of accomplishment after each day will get you up and going each morning. By sticking to a routine, intentions and behaviours become ingrained in your body that will keep you on the right track. Writing a list of goals is also a great way to stick to a schedule!
Surfacing the internet and scrolling through social media can hurt your mood and motivation. Focus on positive feelings by reducing these activities and filling yourself with positive people. keeping a journal is a great idea to dispel negative thoughts and only have positive thoughts. Focus on feelings of gratitude!
It is important to take care of yourself. Make sure to keep a healthy and balanced diet by eating delicious fruits and vegetables. Reward yourself and do things you enjoy – such as watching television, reading a book or listening to music. You must also make sure you sleep enough. Sleeping too much or too little can affect your mood. As people often say, aim to sleep at least eight hours a day.
Most importantly, the first step to staying motivated is to get out of bed. For those who want to sleep in and stay in the comfort of their own homes, getting out of bed and out of your pyjamas will get you motivated for the day. Another great way is to leave a few notes around your room with positive affirmations such as ‘Yes you can do it!’ and ‘Never give up!’.
