You are important, which is why taking care of yourself should be a priority. Don’t let yourself miss out on the most important moments in life because you don’t feel like the best version of yourself. It’s not easy to make huge life changes overnight though, self-improvement takes time and efforts. But by making small changes to your everyday routine you can drastically change the way you look and feel. Try making these 5 subtle changes to your everyday routine and you will start noticing a difference.
You don’t need to go full eat, pray, love in order to get some inner peace. You can achieve a stress and anxiety free life by taking 5 minutes a day to meditate. This doesn’t mean you have to take out a rub and ‘umm’ in-front of a Buddha statue every morning. All you need to do is find a quiet place in your home, close your eyes, and focus on your breathing. Meditation is the practice of focusing the front of your mind on a simple task so that the back of your mind gets a break. By doing this for just five minutes every morning you will start your day feeling refreshed and calm.
If you want your body to operate like a well-oiled machine you need to feed it the good food it needs. However, eating 100% healthy is hard. You have dinner dates, events and tequila Tuesdays to look forward to every week, and I don’t want you to give up your social life. So instead of trying to quit eating junk food cold turkey, try replacing one meal a day with a healthier option. Instead of having a burger and fries for lunch, try a salad. This is a great way to make better choices about what is going into your body. Because putting good foods into your body makes you feel good and look great!
Doesn’t matter if you like to-do lists, journaling or agendas, you should carry a journal around with you that acts like all three of those things. Using the calendar on your phone is a great way to stay organized too if you can remember to bring it with you. By having to do the physical motion of writing things down and then carrying the journal around you increase your chance of remembering everything on your list. You will feel more organized, more put together and you’ll get more shit done. Don’t rely on technology, rely on yourself.
It is too easy to wear the same pair of jeans every single day. You look good in them and they are a safe look to pull off. But something incredible happens when you start putting in effort into your appearance. You will start to feel more confident and as if the world is your oyster. I know it seems silly, but by planning out your outfits not only will you be more organized, but it will also force you to put serious consideration into what you’re wearing and why you’re wearing it. Make better choices about what you’re going to be wearing and you’ll feel amazing.
If you procrastinate today you will pay for it later. Don’t put off cleaning your room, washing those dishes or exercising. Every decision you make in a day will affect your future. So put thought and consideration into every move you make because future you will have to deal with consequences. Give that hard working bitch a break and handle shit for her today.
Are you ready to start making meaningful change in your life and stop wasting time on things that don’t impact your future? Try out these simple steps this week and see if you notice a meaningful difference.
