10 Ways To Spice Up Your Relationship You’ll Want To Hear

Relationships take consistent effort from both parties. After having been with one person for an extended period of time, it’s only normal to feel the pang of the honeymoon phase drifting away from you. Maybe things are starting to feel a little too routine. Fortunately for you, I’ve compiled a list of ten ways to spice up your relationship!

1. Double-dating

Grab another couple, and get off the couch already!

If you choose a fun enough couple, double dating can be a super fun way to spice up your relationship. It gives you guys a chance to see each other in a whole new setting, and you might find yourself even more attracted to your partner. Plus, it’s an easy way to have fun and see how you act as a couple outside of yourselves.

2. Take a trip

Taking a trip doesn’t necessarily mean booking an all inclusive vacation.

Trips can be anything; even driving three hours out to a nearby city and spending the night. Find someplace you can turn into a road trip, and plan out a day with your partner.

3. Spa day

Spas are the ultimate way to connect with your partner.

In an environment of pure bliss, it’s hard not to find serenity with the person your with. Swim around and just relax with them all day, and it’ll feel like you’re the only two people in the whole place!

4. Take a class together

There are options for this one.

Option 1: If you go to the same school as your partner, try and take an elective class together, even if you aren’t in the same program. It’ll make going to school a little bit easier, and definitely spice up studying night.

Option 2: If the aforementioned option is impossible, there are many options out in your city of classes you can take! I personally recommend wine and painting classes, as it involves alcohol (which usually spices things up anyways).

5. Spontaneous surprises

At the end of the day, we all just want validation that people actually listen when we speak.

Try and pay attention to your partner, and if they mention wanting something in particular. It could be a lip gloss from the pharmacy that they noticed one night and walked away from. Surprise them with a little something every once in a while, and it’ll go a long way.

6. Flirt like you used to

Yeah, I know what your thinking. How can I flirt with this person and not laugh?

You can and you will. Flirting is essential in maintaining a romantic spark. Sometimes, we become too comfortable with who were dating and forget to try and keep the romance alive. Flirting makes the other person feel wanted, and can spice things up, even if its just for one night.

7. Cook together

Cooking is hard.

Cooking with someone and making fun of each others abilities (and lack thereof) can be a super fun way to remind each other why your together. Personally, I have absolutely zero cooking abilities, and my boyfriend is quite good in the kitchen. But, when we cook, he still shares the tasks with me and laughs when I fail at them. It’s a fun way to have a good laugh with your partner.

8. Pick a new show

I know The Office is funny. And I know Friends has stood the test of time. But damn kids, it’s time to find something new to watch.

Insides jokes in relationships often come from binge-watching shows together. So, instead of re-watching the same shows ten times, maybe try a new category of shows. This will give you guys something new to talk about!

9. Dress up

Don’t stop trying to look good for your partner. Everyone appreciates when someone does something that the other likes. It can spice up your attraction for one another, and feel like how it did when you first started dating.

10. Try a new date

Instead of always going to the movies, try mini-putting or laser tag instead. Change the game up a bit, and challenge yourselves to a new environment together.
