8 Ways To Revamp Your Closet And Make It Fresh Again

Tired of your current wardrobe? Well we have 8 ways to revamp your closet and make it fresh! You won’t have to feel bad about your style ever again.

1. D.I.Y. some old clothing

You don’t always have to get rid of your old clothing. Don’t be afraid to get creative and do something fun with your closet. This is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to revamp your closet. You could take a pair of some some old jeans, cut them into shorts, and add some distressing. All you need is a pair of scissors! If you’ve never done anything like this before and would like to something a bit more creative, I recommend looking up a tutorial. There are plenty of DIY project ideas on Pinterest and YouTube that you could take inspiration from. Find a good tutorial that will show you step by step. DIY-ing on some old clothes first will give you some practice for you to become better and more creative for future projects.

But remember! DIY projects don’t have to be super expensive. Just work with what you have, especially if it’s your first time doing this.

2. Thrift Shopping

You can revamp your closet through this easy tip: thrift shopping! Thrifting is a cheap way to add some new additions to your closest. Sometimes you may feel a need to go on a shopping splurge to reinvent your old wardrobe but that can get really expensive. Thrift shopping allows you to shop for new clothing without feeling so guilty about it because it’s so cheap! If you want to get the best out of your thrifting, I would recommenced going to multiple thrift stores, which allows you to find a variety. Thrift stores that are located in city/downtown areas usually have the best finds. Don’t be afraid to buy some unique pieces that may even be a bit out of your comfort zone. You’ll be much more tempted to experiment. You’ll never be bored with your closet again!

Ask your local thrift store about what days they have special discounts on to save even more.

3. “Spring Cleaning”

I’m sure we are all familiar with the term “spring cleaning.” This usually refers to a big cleaning spree that gets rid of a bunch of old things. Wardrobes are one of those things that require some deep cleaning every now and then. We all grow out of clothing or change our styles so it’s essential to go through and see what we can get rid of. Now, if your anything like me, actually getting rid of clothes is hard. You can be tempted to hold on to that old sweater you haven’t worn in years but for some reason still feel you’ll need it as soon as you get rid of it. Odds are, if you haven’t worn something within the last couple months, you’re not going to need it a few months from now either. It’s best to just get rid of it and make room for pieces you’ll get more use out of. You can donate the clothes to your local shelter or a thrift store in exchange for some cash.

Really take your time with this and your wardrobe will feel so much more fresh!

4. Take Inspiration From Others

Sometimes feeling the need to revamp your closet is the result of growing tired of your current style. I would recommend taking some time to draw some inspiration from YouTube videos and fashion blogs to discover some new styles. This allows you to see new trends and introduce you to new styles that you may want to add to your wardrobe.

5. Spend A Day Styling Some Outfits

We often don’t think of our outfits until it time for us to get ready to go out somewhere. However, that can take hours when you feel you have nothing to wear and are bored of your wardrobe. To avoid this, I recommend dedicating a day to trying on outfits and finding new ways to style old pieces. You can take pictures in each outfit and put it in a photo album to refer back to whenever you need some outfit inspiration. You’ll be surprised with how much use you’ll get out of certain items.

6. Swap Some Clothing With Friends Or Family

You’re not the only one who gets tired of their wardrobe. Odds are your friends and family members are also looking to clean out their closets. Instead of getting rid of your old clothing, you could always trade clothing with them. This is just as effective as going shopping, but instead, not having to spend any money.

7. Treat Yourself to A Little Shopping Spree

Sometimes the best fix to revamp your closest is to buy some new clothes. However, you may feel inclined to go on a huge shopping spree for a brand new wardrobe (but let’s be honest — that’s not necessarily the smartest idea). Instead, you can treat yourself to a few new items after setting a budget. This allows you to pair some new items with some old ones to create endless cute outfits. This tip works best in combination with tip three, which talks about cleaning out your closet. After you’ve gone through your entire closet and cleaned it out, you’ll have a better idea of what you need to buy. You’ll be feeling much better about your closet after trying this tip out!

8. Get Some New Accessories

Accessories add so much more to an outfit. Try buying some new jewelry, bags, hats, and sunglasses to change up your wardrobe a bit. The right accessories will make those old pieces look trendy and new again.
