Top 10 Ways To Look Great Even If It’s Cold

It’s more than just sweater weather outside. It’s long johns, scarves, hats, earmuffs, and knitted underwear weather outside. Just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean you have to give up style. You can still look hot, even when it’s cold outside.

1. Tight Tank Tops

Why am I suggesting that you wear something light when it’s cold outside? Isn’t the point to bundle up and stay warm? First off, enough of the questions, this is a blog, I can’t hear you. Secondly, I am suggesting you ware a form-fitting tank top underneath all of your clothes. The most annoying part of winter is the wind. You can handle the snow as long as you don’t touch it, but wind creeps up your clothing and tries to finds bare skin to touch. Prevent the wind from getting to second base by wearing a tight tank top underneath your sweater. The tank top is also so tight that it won’t make you look bunchy in the way layering sometimes does.

2. Knitted Tights

With the risk of sounding redundant, I’m going to suggest you wear knitted tights under your pants. Crazy, I know! Let me be clear, I do not want you to wear knitted tights under your skinny jeans or leggings. That would cause some serious bunching issues. However, if you’re a person who likes to wear slacks or MC Hammer pants, you may want to consider slipping a pair of knitted tights on underneath. This won’t affect the overall style of the look, but it will give another layer of protection.

3. Leather Gloves

Your fingers and hands get cold way faster than any other part of your body. Science! Wearing knitted gloves or mittens can make you look kiddish and wearing them can make it a challenge to use electronics. Upgrade your mittens to a nice pair of leather gloves and feel like the upper east side version of yourself. You’ll look rich, classy, and be able to text your friends without removing your gloves.

4. Match Your Hat To Your Scarf

A matching hat and scarf can make your entire outfit look pulled together. It shows that you put time and effort into considering your wardrobe options. Not to mention, if your day involves being outside a lot, you’ll want to make sure you actually like the way your hat and scarf look. Treat them like an accessory, not a necessity, even though they are.

5. Stylish Booties

I grew up in Canada, and we take our shoes off when we walk into a room. Why? Because they’re covered in snow! If you’re not Canadian, you may struggle with having to keep your shoes on all day long, and winter boots aren’t exactly cute. Trade the snow boots for a pair of stylish booties. With the right pair of socks, you’ll be just as warm, and twice as stylish. One good pair of stylish booties can last you all winter long, so make sure you find a pair you love.

6. Oversize Poofy Jackets

Billie Eilish and Hailey Bieber have sold us all on this oversized jacket look, and honestly, I love it! The oversized clothing trend isn’t just stylish, it’s practical. Finally, you can wear something warm and still be fashionable! Thank you, Billie, we’ll probably never be able to repay you for this service. Pair your oversized jacket or hoodie with a pair of tight bicycle shorts or leggings, and you’ll be good to go!

7. Turtle Neck

Don’t worry, I’m not about to start quoting a Lonely Island song, I am going to suggest you wear a turtle neck though, just no chain. Turtle necks aren’t just for poets, you can wear one too and look bomb as fuck! Pair your turtle neck with a cute leather skirt to make this outfit really come together. Please follow tip number two though, and wear some tights, it is still winter outside.

8. Camel Coat

If you’re looking to only buy one new item for your winter wardrobe, make it a camel coat. Camel coats are great because they match everything you own, are on-trend right now, and will keep you warm. The soft texture of a camel coat will make you feel like the inside of a pumpkin spice latte, and on the outside, you’ll just be drinking one. A good camel coat can be an expensive item though, so make sure you are ready for the investment.

9. Knee High Socks

Blair Waldorf called, she wants her style back. Knee-high socks may seem like your boyfriends pervy fantasy, but they’re actually just cute. Pair your knee-high socks with your favourite boots, runners or converse to create a trendy look. The socks aren’t just stylish, they’re also warm and totally functional. Knee-high socks can vary in price, some are five dollars, and others are fifty. I recommend just stopping at Target or Walmart, and picking up a cheap pair, they’re all the same anyways.

10. Cardigan

A simple twist on an old classic look, cardigans will always be in style. If you’re looking to layer your outfit for your warmth, but still want to look stylish, then try a classic cardigan. Cardigan’s are great because they’re so simple and so freaking cute. You can feel fancy, look like a fashionista, all while being warm. What more could you want out of a sweater? The cardigan will probably hang on a little bit, and that’s fine, just pair your cardigan with a tighter shirt and pants.
