5 Ways To Help You Get Back Into Working Out

With the holidays coming up and the weather turning gloomy and gray, it makes to hard to stick to a regular workout routine. If you have fallen out of your workout routine, you are not alone. Here are some tips to help you muster the motivation to have you pumping iron and doing burpees with glee.

1.Getting Enough Sleep

According to the the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 30% of American adults are not catching enough Zzz’s. Although this is more a great circle, getting enough sleep helps your body recover so that you are ready to take on another work out. Consequently enough, working out reduces stress and regulates blood pressure, which helps you sleep better. As you can see, getting enough sleep and working out has a big affect on eachother, but you need a good night’s rest in order to get back into the swing of things for your body get the best of the workout.

2.Eating Healthier

Eating healthy is one of those things that you have to be conscience about. It affects the amount of time and energy you put into food prep as well as planning and shopping. Although you don’t have to go home and throw out all your snack food, you should start preparing healthier feels and snacks. Fueling your body in the right ways will help you in your workouts and help you bounce back faster when you are sore. You don’t have to give up pizza all together, but make sure you are eating foods that will help you feel good in the gym.

3.Having A Goal To Work Towards

If you have friend’s wedding coming up or you’re taking off on a trip, set goals that a line with these upcoming events. Setting workout goals don’t always have to be about lbs, but can be about the new outfit you are working on fitting into. Another great goal is to focus on the weights you are using, if you are lifting. This helps you focus on your strength rather than the scale, which can be a dangerous road if you let it.

4.Setting Aside A Specific Time

Either before work or after class, set aside specific time to work out. This helps you get your workout time into your daily routine and doesn’t let you blow it off easily. It takes around two weeks for your body to get into a routine, so make sure you stick with it even when it gets hard. If you are struggling with setting aside time, look into joining a class. This way, there is a set schedule that you cannot change and knowing that others will show up will help you get back into the swing of things. A class will also take the pressure off coming up with your reps and you can relax (in a sense) and follow a teacher.
