Memories will come and go but Instagram feeds last forever. Alright, maybe that was a little dramatic, but because you probably spend most of your free time on this app you might want to consider bumping up your content. Not everyone can be an influencer and be paid to post, but that doesn’t mean you can’t put some thought into your hashtags. Try using these 5 tips to help you have a perfect Instagram feed that you can be proud of.
Instagram themes are not some flash-in-the-pan trend, most Instagram users utilize themes to give their feeds a polished and cohesive look. If you are unfamiliar with the term it is pretty simple. Pick a theme that can be represented in every type of post you do. Don’t pick a theme based on a subject, you’ll be too limited in your posting. Instead, pick a color pallet or specific texture, then plan to have all your photos feature that color. This will surely enhance the overall look of your Instagram feed and entice people to take a closer look at your work.
Instagram is supposed to be fun, so don’t plan it out too far in advance or it’ll seem like a job. Instead, aim to have 50% of your overall content planned out in advance, then use the other 50% to post organically. This way you can make sure that your Instagram feed always has content for your followers, but allows you to have some fun with the app as well. Planning out your content can also help you organize your time better. If you plan to have one post a day and schedule it to go out at noon then you know you don’t have to be on the app at any other point in the day.
When your Hollywood crush likes the heart eyes emoji you left on their photo your heart probably swells and you feel great all day long. Be someone’s Hollywood crush and return that feeling. When someone comments or shares your work on Instagram make sure you respond. Even if your response is short it’ll make them feel great and will let them know they are welcomed on your feed any day. This is a great way to build a following that is engaging and enjoys your content.
If I see one more #OOTD I’m going to throw my phone out a window. Social media is filled with noise, everyone is constantly posting, so don’t just add to the noise, change it. Instead of posting the same food picture you see every single day, mix it up by taking a small bite out of it. Get creative with different angles, colors, poses and positions. The most important thing you can do on Instagram is entertaining, that’s the point of the app, to entertain. If you’re having fun so will your audience.
Not only does your personal feed need to be popping, but so does the one you browse through every day. Don’t fill your day up with negativity and envy, instead follow people who inspire you to be a better person. So take your phone out right now and delete all those girls who were mean to you in high school, and that celebrity that makes you feel fat, you don’t need them and they won’t notice you’re gone. Then I want you to start following people who are in the same career path as you, or a career you want, people who post about how great life can be. This way every time you open your phone you feel inspired to do great things with your life.
