8 Ways To Have A Better Start To Your Day

Having a better start to your day is important in making sure you set yourself up to have the best day possible. Here are 8 small, achievable things you can do to have a better start to your day.

1. Make Your Bed

Making your bed is a simple and effective way to set you on the right track for the rest of your day. Making your bed automatically makes your room seem tidier, and means you’ve already achieved one thing before you’ve even left the house. This will make your room seem nicer, and make you feel good about yourself for achieving something.

2. Have a Healthy Drink

Having a healthy drink in the morning like some orange juice or a smoothie is a great way to give your body a vitamin boost. Getting one of your five a day as soon as you wake up means you’re more likely to continue eating healthily during the rest of the day and means you’ll instantly feel more refreshed.

3. Give Yourself Time

So many people don’t give themselves enough time in the morning to get everything done. Try waking up half an hour earlier to give yourself time not to rush. If you already do this, try doing a 5-minute meditation to give yourself some head space, perfect for making sure you’re ready to take on the day ahead.

4. Wash Your Face

If you don’t have time to do a full face regime in the morning, washing your face is a good place to start. Invest in a good cleanser and massage it into your face so that you have a deeper clean and then wash it off with warm water to get the full effects. It’s important to indulge in a bit of self-care in the morning to keep you feeling good about yourself.

5. Listen To Some Uplifting Songs

Listening to an uplifting playlist in the morning is a great way to keep yourself motivated whilst getting ready. Try listening to the ‘Have A Great Day!’ or ‘Happy Hits!’ playlists on Spotify for some upbeat tunes, perfect for getting you in that positive mood.

6. Have Breakfast

So many people forget to have breakfast in the morning, but it’s one of the simplest things you can do to make sure you have enough energy to take on the day. If you don’t have enough time to eat or prepare anything before you go, try making some overnight oats the night before that you can take with you. Having some food in the morning is so important so that you actually have the energy to do what you need to do.

7. Stretch

Stretching is a nice way to get your body moving, without doing anything too full on. Doing a 10-minute stretch or yoga session will make sure your body is warmed up and ready for anything you may need to do throughout the day. As well as being good for your body, it’s also nice to have a bit of time to clear your mind and have some time to yourself.

8. Keep Hydrated

Everyone knows it’s important to drink water, and drinking some as soon as you wake up is arguably the most important time to do it. It kickstarts your body and keeps you refreshed, as well as making you feel energised. It’s so important to keep hydrated in the mornings, and you can always add some lemon or strawberries for that extra nutritional boost.
