5 Ways To Feel Happier This Month

We all deserve to feel happier than we currently do – with our hectic schedules and constant tasks to complete, it can be all too easy to find yourself feeling low. Check out this useful guide to discover the 5 simple ways to feel happier this month.

1. Change Your Mindset

One of the first places to start, when wanting to feel happier, is with your mindset. Try to think more positively, and actively try to be a more optimistic person. Try to control your perspective, and try to make an effort to look at the bright side of any situation, rather than focusing on all of the negative aspects.

This is the best thing to do if you want to feel happier than you are today. One easy way to think more positively is to hang around more positive people. Their optimistic spirit will inevitably rub off on you. Change your mindset, and you’ll feel happier in no time!

2. Fix Anything That’s Broken

Another way to feel happier is to take a good look at the things happening in your life and to change whatever it is holding you back. Change whatever you can to make yourself feel happier. Whilst you may not be able to change your career or your university course overnight, you can change your attitude about your work.

It’s important to remember a job or a degree does not define you, and you have other things to feel happier about. Additionally, the smaller things can make a big impact – if waiting in traffic, before work, for an hour annoys you, try waking up an hour earlier to avoid the traffic jam.

3. Minimize Your Stress

Minimizing stress is easier said than done. If you make an effort to minimize your stress, you’ll feel happier in no time. Clean and organize your space, so you don’t get stressed out looking for something to wear every morning. Remember to make some time for yourself to feel happier, and to avoid people and situations that leave you feeling stressed.

You’ll be surprised by how much of an impact this will have on your level of happiness. Try relieving stress with meditation, writing in a journal, or if you’re feeling really stressed, then consider talking to a therapist or a healthcare professional.

4. Spend More Time Pursuing Your Passion

Anyone would feel happier if they spent more time doing the thing(s) they really loved. If you’re a photography fan, spend more time taking pictures. If you love to write poems, work on your craft. If you love cooking, make time to cook at least twice a week. Pursuing your passion will definitely make an impact on your level of happiness.

Try to find ways that you can be more efficient to find more time pursuing your passion, or if there are some mundane activities that you can cut out of your life pretty easily and make time for the things you truly love.

5. Exercise Regularly

Regular exercise has been proven to make people feel happier. You may not want to go to the gym or go for a quick run when you’re feeling down, but that’s precisely what will get you up. If exercising alone is too boring for you, then take a group yoga or class or join a team sport. Try to choose physical activity over transportation any time you can.

Even walking 15 minutes to the supermarket, instead of driving or opting for the stairs to your classroom instead of taking the lift can make you feel happier.
