5 Ways To Decorate Your Dorm For Fall

Feeling at home while you’re away at college can be hard. You’re still trying to get the hang of classes, as well as getting used to the new environment that you’re now living in (unless you commute). However, it is time to get excited about what you can make of this new chapter of your life, dorm included.

It’s up to you! If you want to get super creative, you can even paint or decorate your own sign, writing whatever you please on it to make it yours.

2. Painted Pumpkins

If you’re one who loves art and painting, then this might be your favorite idea yet. You can make it a fun activity to do with friends, from the pumpkin picking to the painting itself. Or, if you want to save time and money, just buy a pair of small fake pumpkins to paint on! I’m not much of an artist, but this is definitely something I’m looking forward to doing this fall with my friends. If you’re like me, then you love it when your room smells good at all times. And I mean all times. Since most dorms don’t allow candles, college students have to find other alternatives. Let’s face it, sometimes flameless candles aren’t good enough when you’re in the mood to decorate your dorm but have restrictions.

Essential oils not only have a lot of benefits, but they can also change your room from smelling like simply nothing to smelling like cinnamon and pine. Lights are a simple yet creative way to decorate your room and make it look and feel more cute and festive. Most dorms have harsh lighting so using lights you can put up yourself can give the room a complete and total makeover. And as fall approaches, stores will start to sell fall and Halloween related items! So, if you want to hang up a cute pair of lights with pumpkins on them or even leaves, do so and have fun doing it.

5. Accent/Decorate Your Bed

One of my favorite things to do is decorate my bed! Cozy blankets and pillows will never go out of style, especially not during the colder months. They can either match the color scheme you have going on in your dorm already or if you’re feeling extra festive, you could just buy blankets and pillows that have fall colors in them.
