5 Ways To Combat A Hangover on A Night Out

Having a night out on the town is a great way to celebrate a special occasion. Going to a nice restaurant, having great food, and plenty of drinks! But you may wake up the next morning with a nasty hangover if you aren’t being careful throughout the night. So, here are five ways to combat a hangover on a night out.

Have a Full Meal

If you aren’t going to a restaurant, then you will want to make sure that you eat a good meal before you go out. If you are going dancing at a club, or to a party, you need some sustenance to help you take in all the alcohol. Especially, at places where food isn’t available (some clubs are drinks only) then you will want something beforehand to make you feel better later, so you don’t wake up with a hangover, regretting the amount you drank.

Bring Snacks

If you are driving somewhere, or have a ride, bring a few small snacks with you in your purse or to keep in the car. A granola bar, chips, nut, or berries are all good options that will help you to soak up the liquor in your stomach and not make the next morning hangover feel so harsh. It’s also good to have a little something ready for drunk you to come home to. Have some leftovers to heat up, or a microwavable meal to make. The sober you in the morning, without a major hangover, will thank you.

*Hint: you might want to leave a note for yourself on the fridge or by your bed to remind you that you have food for yourself. Just in case you forget!

Drink Water Throughout

You must keep yourself hydrated when drinking and replenish yourself throughout the night. So, have a few glasses of water periodically to keep a healthy balance. If you’re wondering how much is enough, the rule is typically for each alcoholic drink, you drink one glass of water. Keep this in mind throughout the night, and you will not have a terrible hangover the next morning. Plus, many bars will serve mineral water which gives you a little something extra to get you through the night.

Drink Water Before Bed

For those of you who don’t drink water throughout the night, this is especially important! I know it can be difficult to keep track when you are out having fun, so if you don’t drink enough while you are out, you need to make sure you drink a bottle before you go to bed. If not, the hangover you are left with will be more intense, and you’ll probably end up needing some ibuprofen in the morning to combat that major headache. It’s a big help, believe me, your body will be thanking you in the morning!

Spread Out Your Drink Intake

If you know you are going to have a long night, then don’t down shots early in the night and continue to drink all night. That is a sure fire way to give yourself a horrible hangover. Instead, space out each drink, and give your body some time to process it before you give it more. If you are at a club from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. then you will have time to get plenty to drink. Have about a drink an hour, while drinking water, and you will keep your buzz without waking up with a hangover.

A night out without a hangover in the morning is the best way to party! Keep these rules and you will be able to have a great night out without waking up with a bad headache or a sour stomach with the need to puke. Let me know what works best for you in the comments!
