As a guy who used to care less if he was wearing pink, black, or green during the Spring, Fall or Winter, I’ve begun to warm-up to the idea of upping my fashion game. There’s something to be said about dressing to the tune of your setting to feel good about how you look in public.
Guys, a really cool thing to note is that some of the colors we may associate as feminine (purple, orange and yellow) are colors that women ironically love seeing on men. Because men are afraid of these colors, it is not too often we will wear them in public. So when we do, women notice.
The Fall green we know and love is either an olive or forest green. As a darker color, I prefer to wear my green on my pants, than tops. My favorite way to pull off this touch in my outfit is a pair of Banana Republic form fitting chinos. These in particular come in several colors, one of which is our Fall color: olive green. Afraid of Orange? Sprinkle it into your shirt with a Patagonia Fjord Flannel Shirt. With streaks of blue and a soft orange, you will match your surroundings among the trees changing colors, and not look like you’re wearing a traffic conductor’s vest.

Corduroy pants differ from your chino’s in that they offer you warmth and texture. Continue to utilize your darker Fall colors with them (black, green, blue and browns) with your cords or chinos. I love to use corduroys because they are not as popular nowadays. I walk with confidence in my cords and pick a pair that makes my butt look good. My favorite lazy Fall look are my cords with a plain white tee on top. Try my fave cords from Levi’s.

Get your blue in with my favorite, subtly unique vest, by Barbour. The Essential Men’s Gilet (Vest) looks like your everyday finance intern’s quilted vest, but the difference lies on the back. The quilting from the front of the vest does not bleed onto the back, offering a more rare cotton stitched and breathable back. Pair this vest with a lighter colored shirt underneath a darker pair of pants.

Do you need a way to bring out modern and youthful colors at the office? A darker blue pairs well with the transitioning weather and the alertness of a young professional. Place a white shirt with either your blue dress pants or suit. My favorite blue suit comes from the Calvin Klein X-Fit line. What is unique about the X-Fit line is that the fabric contains a percentage of elastic. This means when you sit down at your desk, you will not be restrained by the usual wool and cotton stitching on your butt and in your crotch. Personally, it feels like I’m wearing joggers the office, and I am not sacrificing an inch of formality in my attire. Almost every other accessible designer name brand has a performance line of material that also stretches with you.

According to GQ’s style fashion director Mobolaji Dawodu, “Yellow is not an in-between color, you’re either all in or you’re not.” In accordance with one of the best, when wearing yellow, don’t forget to put your confidence on as well when you’re dressing in Fall yellow. It’s easy to think people I public will judge you because you’re wearing an uncommon color, especially for a man. My advice is that you choose a classy and sharp article of clothing. When you wear something that feels and looks good on you, that will show in your attitude in public as well. In the name of formal attire once again, dawn a yellow blazer.

Fo going from point A to B by yourself or with your friends, dawn this golden yellow bomber jacket from ASOS.com. The reason I like this bomber is that it does not have the smooth reflective surface or the puffiness that most bombers do. A different bomber look is nice to see, as they have become very popularized.

What I really enjoy about the v-neck sweater is the you are able to pair it over a collared shirt, or wear it as-is. V-neck sweaters look great in any of the Fall colors. I prefer the deeper purple, or marsala in this case. The best priced v-neck sweater comes from Joseph Abboud for $21.

The easiest look you can bring to your Fall outfit is with a deep purple cotton long sleeve tee. I prefer the shirts without the breast pocket because to me, the breast pocket is less of a symmetrical look. Find yours here. Pair this with a darker pair of jeans, cords or chinos and you’ll be set for some apple picking or beer tasting in the Fall weather.

Banana Republic jeans gives the man not what he wants, but what he NEEDS. As guys, we are often not as in-tune with our fashion as we should be. A pair of jeans that fits our legs and butt well shows that we care how we look. I recently was awoken when I tried on this pair of Banana Republic jeans.
