We’ve all been there. Crying to our best friend with a bucket of ice cream in hand and asking them, “What did I do wrong?”. Yeah, it’s certainly no fun to admit, but a heartbreak of some sort has happened to all of us. In today’s society, the words “I love you” are thrown out like they are nothing. A first date is now a first hookup and people would rather snap you instead of see you. Left constantly disappointed, it appears as if Prince Charming is not out there for you, but I assure you he is. You just have to wait. These are the reasons to wait for the right guy!
Wait for the guy that will ask you out on a date, not over for a late-night hangout. If a guy asks you on a date, why not say yes? He wants to get to know you as a person, wants to know your heart, wants to see your silly quirks and your huge smile, and is interested in you. Why not give him a chance?
The guy that is texting you at 10pm asking you to come hangout isn’t interested in your heart. He is only interested in one thing. Do not fall for that. Guard your heart and wait for the guy that will ask you out. It may seem more difficult to wait and be patient, but it will be worth it.
Wait for the guy that will constantly remind you how beautiful you are every single day. Even when you do not want to hear it because all those negative self-destructive thoughts creep in, let him tell you how beautiful you are. Let him tell you he thinks you have the most beautiful smile he has ever seen. Let him tell you he loves every imperfect thing about you because it makes you, you. Do not let your own insecurities win. He loves every single thing about you, and he makes sure you know that every single day. Wait for him.
Wait for the guy that puts his technology away when he is with you. If he is interested in you, then he should be present every time he sees you. His focus should be on getting to know you and creating a real, authentic relationship. It should not be on taking a dozen selfies and blasting them to every social media platform known to exist. If he is actually interested in you, his phone should be the last of his worries while he is with you. Wait for the guy that WANTS to put all distractions down while he is with you.
Wait for the guy that encourages you to grow. Remember, you do NOT need a guy to complete you. However, wait for the guy that compliments you best. Wait for the guy that makes you want to be the best version of yourself that you can be. Not because he is forcing you to, but because you want the greatest potential for your relationship. When two people are constantly working on bettering themselves for their relationship, wonderful things will happen. With change comes growth. Wait for the guy that inspires you to grow.
Wait for the guy that prays for you, and prays for you often. There is nothing more powerful and deep than a human soul praying for another. If he is praying for you, he cares deeply about you. He wants the absolute best for you, and he wants God to know that as well. He cares about your happiness, your faith, your future, your soul. His love for you runs deep. Wait for him.
Wait for the guy that seeks truth and not temptations, the guy that will guard your heart and won’t awaken love until it is time. The guy that wants to become more like Jesus, selfless, serving others, and loving above all. Wait for the guy that wants to go to church with you. Wait for the guy that stays up late with you to talk about each other’s struggles. He isn’t after your body, he is after your heart. He wants to experience truth, and he wants you to experience it too. Grow with him. Pray with him. Be vulnerable. Guard your heart until he comes around. It will be worth it.
Ladies I know it’s hard. Really hard actually, but it will be worth it. Guard your heart. Work on your self until he comes along. Embrace this time of singleness. Go for coffee by yourself or on a walk on your own. Be content and be confident in yourself without a man. You’ve got this.
