10 Videogames That You Should Give A Try

Videogames, for many young adults, are a favored form of entertainment. They are a great way to decompress after a long day and a major killer of time when you’re bored. Whether you’re playing solo, with some friends or online against a stranger, they can be played just for the enjoyment or for competition with a possible wager on the line. No matter how you play, videogames have a magical way of incorporating us to the virtual world.

Millions upon millions of people around the world play videogames, and developers have come out with countless ideas for games to appeal to the different audiences. Fans of sports, shooting, fighting, action, strategy and many more genres can be found in the videogaming world, making it almost impossible not to find a game that you could enjoy.

There are over a million different videogames out there between game consoles, PCs and cellphones, but this list dwindles it down to a much more comfortable number. Out of the bunch of games to choose from, here are 10 videogames that you should give a try if you haven’t already!

1. NBA 2k20

Live out your hoop dreams with the help of NBA 2k20, the world’s number one selling basketball simulation brought to you by the NBA!

2k is a sports videogame that offers a handful of different game modes for you, the player, to explore and enjoy. There is of course the quick game mode, where you can choose to play with your favorite teams against the computer, a friend or a stranger. You can even use WNBA teams for the first time ever!

You can hop into MyTeam, where you can collect player cards and play challenges to unlock and win better players on a mission to put together the greatest roster ever assembled.

If you’ve ever felt like being a GM, 2k allows you to run a franchise through association mode, where you can rebuild or retool your favorite teams into champions.

Lastly, one of the most popular modes in the game, MyPlayer allows you to create your own NBA superstar, yourself if you really wanted, and go through a behind-the-scenes look at what its like to be a player in the NBA. Play through your career online on a quest to make the hall of fame, or jump into the neighborhood with a park full of outdoor courts with hundreds of other players and take on their MyPlayer’s to see who has the best stuff.

Whether you want to play competitively, for fun, or for the grand prize, NBA 2k20 has game modes that suit all fans of basketball!

2. Call Of Duty: Warzone

This game is still relatively new to gamers, but has quickly gained a ton of fans!

Call of Duty: Warzone is a free, downloadable multiplayer battle royale game released in March of 2020. This game stems from the re-released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and is a game that greatly tests your strategy, decision making and overall skills on the sticks.

On a giant map with up to 150 players in each lobby, you can drop in solo or with up to two other friends to form a trio to challenge other gamers in a mission to scavenge for loot, collect plenty of cash to purchase high level load outs, and outlast your enemies to be the last man (or men) standing.

If you enjoy the battle royale style gun battles and love Call of Duty or videogames that involve shooting, Warzone is well worth a try!

3. Mortal Kombat: 11

No, it’s not a typo; it’s really spelled with a K.

Mortal Kombat is one of the all-time classic fighting games, and is a video game you should try. If you’re a fan of extreme violence and gore, this is the bloodiest fighting game of them all. You can even brutally kill the opposing fighter if you correctly mash the buttons for their “fatality” move. Mortal Kombat holds nothing back.

Mortal Kombat 11 gives you all of the main fighters of the series: Scorpion, Sub Zero and Raiden among them, and even brings in special guest characters like The Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger!) who wouldn’t want to fight with one of a Hollywood icon?

Mortal Kombat is the ultimate when it comes to gore, violence in fighting videogames, and if you’re into all of that, pick this game up!

4. FIFA 20

Kick back with a buddy and challenge them to some FIFA 20!

FIFA is a popular sports game that revolved around soccer (cause FIFA basically stands for the federation of international football association). Like 2k, you can use your favorite players or international teams, create a FIFA ultimate team composed of collected players to play challenges or against another player’s team, and a career mode to allow you to take the pitch and become the greatest goal scorer we’ve ever known.

Take the pitch today and give FIFA 20 a try!

5. Fortnite

Fortnite isn’t the first ever battle royale to blow up, but it was easily the most successful.

Fortnite, as you may know by now, is a popular third person multiplayer videogame that involves looting, shooting, and a whole lot of building to add a special twist. Like any other battle royale, you can play solo, team up with one friend or team up with up to three others in a last man or team standing match in a lobby of up to 100 players. Drop down from the battle bus to an all new, wide ranging map, scavenge buildings and houses in search of loot, chug small and big shields to gain health, and build protective forts to help aid you during gun battles.

Fortnite‘s advantage over many other videogames is that it offers a ton of downloadable content. Awesome player skins, funny emotes and cool weapon camos. It’s no surprise that with all of this neat stuff to buy that the game has raked in millions of dollars off of a free game!

6. The Last Of Us: Remastered

One of the most complex, detailed, mind blowing games in recent memory, The Last Of Us is a must try videogame!

Considered a videogaming masterpiece, this game will have you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire single player campaign. It is a game set after an Apocalypse hits the US, and the two main characters, Joel and Ellie (a teenage girl, mind you), travel across the country in the hopes of finding a cure for the plague that has destroyed so much of humanity.

With extravagant graphics and an incredibly intense plot, The Last Of Us is a game you must give a try! Also look out for The Last Of Us 2 coming out soon!

7. Madden 20

You’re going to notice that all of these sports games kind of have a theme.

Madden 20 is the popular and highly competitive videogame that represents the NFL. It features game modes that allow you to play quick games with your any team in the league, build up a Madden Ultimate Team to complete challenges and compete against other teams online, or get drafted in career mode and play your way to super bowls and the hall of fame. You can also choose to work your GM magic on this game and see if you can manage a franchise into a dynasty with franchise mode.

Sports videogames are meant to bring all your favorite real life athletes to the palms of your hands and put them into your control, and much like NBA 2k20 and FIFA 20, Madden 20 allows the player to do just that!

8. Fallout 76

Another post-apocalyptic game that is sure to draw you in, Fallout 76 is a game that is set about one hundred years into the future.

Almost three decades after a great nuclear war that destroyed much of the earth, vault 76, and its residents are given the task of rebuilding and repopulating the wasteland. From there, the game allows you to choose your own avatar to go through the game with and customize everything from their name to their identification card, and allows you to explore vault 76 and the layout of the crumbled land on the outside freely.

Fallout 76 does a great job with keeping players busy with meeting tons of different characters, collecting key objects, tools, items and parts while completing missions and exploring the map. You’ll never run out of curiosity!

Playing the entire Fallout series will give you a better understanding of where you are at this point, but if you’re looking to just jump right in, this is a game that I recommend you try out!

9. Grand Theft Auto 5

There’s gang violence, drug wars, bank robberies, strippers, souped up cars, dirty jokes and weapons galore. Anything you could ever want in an action-packed freelance game, Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA V) is a game you must try.

The story mode focuses on three players: Franklin, Michael and Trevor, and takes place in the same city as one of the series’ most iconic games — Los Santos. Unlike any GTA before it, GTA V has you play through the story mode with all three characters to complete various missions and heists. If you feel like taking a break from the story, enjoy roaming the giant map and commit some heinous crimes for fun (sounds wild, right?)

GTA V also offers an online mode where you can create your own avatar and roam the same map with other players around the world and perform heists and join street races to earn large sums of cash. Or you could just carjack people, hold stores up at gunpoint and rob the cashier, or just blow things up with an rocket launcher; you know, the real reason you play GTA.

Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA VI) is soon to be on its way later this year, but until then, GTA V continues to bring updated content and endless adventure to your gaming experience!

10. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Last but certainly never least, we have an instant classic racing game that everyone can enjoy!

The latest edition of a Nintendo 64 gem, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a revamped version of the original Mario Kart 8. The deluxe version does offer colorfully creative and lively tracks, and its graphics and music are clean and crisp. What blows the original Mario Kart 8 out of the water is its reconstructed battle mode, which is given new life in the deluxe with special, heavily condensed battle courses. Collect items, chuck them at your opponents, and finish the game with the most balloons (or lives) to win the epic battle!

Compete in the classic racing modes with friends, take on racers on the battle tracks, and experiment and enjoy other game modes Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has for you!

Each of these videogames give its players an entirely unique style of play, and their extreme differences from one another can make it fun for gamers to branch out and enjoy. While most of these games can be seen as highly competitive, there’s still plenty of room for you to have fun with some laid back entertainment. So if you’re looking for casual fun or want to up the ante, turn on one of these 10 games, hop onto the sticks and enjoy!
