Valentine’s Day Ideas You Can Do In Quarantine This Year

It might seem like celebrating Valentine’s day during quarantine may be the least fun or romantic way to celebrate the holiday, but don’t worry! There are actually some good things about not going out on V-Day this year, like not having to deal with long lines, crowded date spots, or tons of PDA. If you’re looking for some fun ways to make staying in this Valentine’s day fun, check out these 10 creative Valentine’s day ideas! Whether you’re celebrating alone or with a loved one, staying in for V-Day doesn’t have to be the end of the world with these fun ways to celebrate the holiday during quarantine.

1. Cook A Delicious Dinner

Cooking a tasty dinner at home is always a great way to celebrate V-Day and might be the most popular of all Valentine’s day ideas. It’s romantic and rewarding to be able to enjoy a delicious meal that you’ve put the work into preparing. Even if you’re cooking for just yourself or making something simple, cooking dinner on Valentine’s day is a nice little way to treat yourself.

2. Have A Spa Day

Having your own spa day at home is a really fun and relaxing way to celebrate Valentine’s day. It’s a great option for anyone who may find themselves single or even people in a relationship (some stress-reduction might be a good thing!). If you don’t have a bathtub to enjoy a bath in, taking a shower with some fancy soap or delicious smelling shower gel can be just as relaxing!

Use a hair treatment, exfoliate, do whatever you want to do to get yourself feeling good! You can also paint your nails, use a face mask, change up your hair, moisturize your body, or give yourself (or someone else) a massage. If you’re relaxed, you’re winning!

3. Movie Night

Another of the most classic Valentine’s day ideas is to cuddle up and watch a movie! There are so many perfect V-Day movies to choose from so there’s bound to be something that fits what you’re looking for.

Grab some wine, a bowl of popcorn, some ice cream, some chocolates, whatever you like to really go all-out watching a movie! Wear comfy clothes and pile on the blankets for extra comfort.

4. Game Night

If you’re looking for something besides just movies, have a game night! It could be board games, card games, video games, whatever you like! If you’ve got someone quarantined with you to play with that’s great, but if you don’t, don’t worry!

Game night is still possible. You can use social media platforms or video chatting apps like Facetime or Skype to play games with friends who may be quarantined far away from you this V-Day! Not to mention the many ways to connect with your friends through video games.

5. Have An Indoor Picnic

Is it just me or is having an indoor picnic a super romantic idea? Even if you’re Quarintened alone this Valentine’s day, having a little indoor picnic on your own can still be fun.

It’s a luxurious way to enjoy your favorite food (I’d go with a pizza!) while changing up the feel of the room. Get some flower petals and extra lighting to really jazz up the atmosphere!

6. Build A Fort

Forts aren’t just for little kids. They can actually be really fun and romantic! If you’ve got extra sheets or blankets lying around, get creative, and use them to craft the ultimate V-Day fort.

Add some pillows, snacks, twinkle lights, and drinks, and voila! The perfect place to relax, hang out or watch a movie this Valentine’s day. It’s super comfortable and can be a romantic place to snuggle up and chill this holiday.

7. Spice It Up In The Bedroom

Another one of the more popular Valentine’s day ideas is finding ways to take your intimacy to the next level. If you’re lucky enough to be quarantined with your partner, why not take the opportunity to spice things up in the bedroom?

You can talk to each other about trying out some new positions or things you’ve been curious to try. Don’t be afraid to really go all-out and decorate the bedroom to spark some romance! Flower petals are classic, but don’t forget the candles! Add some chocolates and balloons to really set the mood.

8. Breakfast In Bed

One of my personal favorite Valentine’s Day ideas is to start the day by having some coffee or breakfast in bed. It’s such a classic and romantic idea that I find it really appealing!

Even if you’re quarantined on your own this V-Day, sleeping in and having your coffee or breakfast in the comfort of your bed really sets the tone for a relaxing and comfort-filled day.

9. Dress Up For Drinks

This is a super fun idea! If you’re feeling bummed because you have the perfect outfit for Valentine’s day this year but can’t wear it out because of Quarantine, I say wear it anyway! You don’t need to be leaving the house to look great!

It can be really fun to dress up at home and enjoy your drinks or dinner there. If you’re alone this holiday, plan to dress up and video chat with some friends while enjoying a drink! It gives you something to look forward to during the day and is the perfect excuse to dress up, not that you need one.

10. Create Some Art

Take some time to flex your creative muscles this V-Day and create some art! This can be really fun to do on your own or with a partner. Whatever your situation, creating some art can be fun and relaxing. If you have the materials, you can try your hand at painting, or try drawing or collaging with whatever materials you have available!

If you’re quarantined with your partner, try painting a portrait of each other! If you’re on your own this year, put on your favorite jams and have fun getting creative! It’ll feel good to create something and art is a great outlet for any V-Day stress you may be feeling.
