Philadelphia is home to a wide variety of summer festivals. Of course, this means beer festivals. There is something for everyone to enjoy, from summer ale to Oktoberfest. Grab some friends and enjoy some beer around town at these Philly beer festivals!
The 13th annual Wheat Beer Fest will be held at the South Philadelphia Tap Room on Saturday, May 19 from noon to 7 p.m. The event will have 30+ beers on tap. There will also be live performances from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. from DJ Too Tuff, Three 4 Tens, Anika Pyle, and Point Breeze Country Club.
Philly’s largest craft beer, wine, and cocktail festival will be even bigger this year with a 50,000 beer, wine, and cocktail garden at Citizens Bank Park on May 19 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Guests will receive two tickets to a Phillies game. There will be live entertainment, giveaways, and other surprises throughout the event.
The 11th annual Philly Beer Week will take place from June 1 to June 10. The event will feature local beer tastings in neighborhood taprooms to guided tastings, lectures, and prix-fixe beer pairing dinners across the city.
Beer Under the Big Top is being held on June 2 from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Navy Yard. There will be more than 150 local and national craft beers on site to be sampled along with stilt walker, contortionists, sword swallowers, and jugglers. There will also be a collection of toiletries such as bar soap, toothpaste, deodorant, sunscreen, shampoo, and conditioner for Committee to Benefit the Children, an organization that helps kids with blood disorders and cancer.
This 7th annual “alfresco fiesta” will be held on Frankford Avenue in Fishtown June 9 from noon to 8 p.m. Attendees can buy beer and food from more than 20 local places along the Avenue. The event is rain or shine and will also feature carnival games, local art, and DJ sets.
The Summer Ale Festival at the Philadelphia Zoo will take place on June 23 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Attendees will enjoy live entertainment, food truck food, and the creatures that call the zoo home, all while sampling Philly-area craft beers.
On Saturday, July 21, Summerfest Live! will take place at XFINITY Live! in South Philadelphia from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The afternoon will feature unlimited samplings of craft beer as well as live music, games, and food trucks.
Torresdale’s Canstatter German Society will host this year’s Labor Day Volkfest from September 1 to 3, 2018. The three-day Oktoberfest festival will offer crafts, beer, live entertainment, rides, games, and more for the who family to enjoy.
