
There are so many freshman dorms at Central Michigan University! It can be hard to choose one, but don’t worry! These are the ultimate rankings from best to worst based on my experience.
Pros: Best cafeteria on campus, private bathrooms, football field is close walking distance, SAC is close walking distance, there’s a market below the caf.
Cons: Pretty far from most of the academic buildings, everyone goes to their cafeteria so it’s pretty packed most of the time.
Pros: You get to meet a lot of new people, most freshman live here, private bathrooms, caf is big and food is great, there’s a market and a Subway in the lobby.
Pros: Close to football stadium and the SAC, small community so everyone is treated like family, private bathrooms.
Cons: Far from academic buildings.
Pros: Close to most of the academic buildings, caf food is okay, Northside Market located in Robinson, small community, everyone is treated like family, really close to the University Center and the library, the LAS scholars live in north and they are the kindest people you will ever meet!
Cons: Really far from football stadium and the SAC, if you live in Barnes you would have to walk across the street to eat in Robinson and Barnes doesn’t have an elevator so choose what floor you live on wisely (I learned that the hard way #thirdfloor), only certain sections of Barnes have private bathrooms so I suggest living in a 4 person room, otherwise you will have community bath.
