Homecoming week is definitely something to look forward to here at Northeastern! Whether you’re an alum or an incoming freshman, there’s always something to do. There are so many events, they can be divided into four main sections. Keep reading for the ultimate freshman guide to homecoming week at Northeastern!
This section encompasses all of the events that seem to make no sense to have but are always a great place to get free stuff and spend some of your extra free time. Think anything from s’mores nights to random cooking events.
If you’re the sporty type (or just want a reason to party), Homecoming is a great place to get your fill of screaming students and angry refs. Make your way to the Dog House when you’re feeling school spirit-y.
Mayor of Huntington Campus is the closest thing we have to a Homecoming King or Queen now and consists of a democratic voting through your MYNEU portal. A lot of this process is understated, considering that the winner gets a budget to host events throughout the year! This is the most important election this year, I promise.
Greek life on campus actually has a lot centered around homecoming week at Northeastern. Frats and srats pair up and have so great socializing opportunities, as well as a huge themed dance competition which is definitely worth attending. This year, the theme is “Believe in Magic,” so I’m hoping for some bunny rabbits on stage.
