Trust me when I say this, your professors have more knowledge about your field than you can imagine. If you get to know them and develop a positive relationship, they will be more willing to find you a job and help you in the long run when you need them.

2. Attend events for Community on the Quad.
I go every year with my friends and I love it! My freshman year they had a jungle theme and brought in live animals that we were allowed to hold. Last year we got to make tie-dye shirts. So exciting!

3. Eat at the Food Truck Festival on Shawnee Mountain.
If you love food as much as I do, then definitely make sure you stop by this festival before your time at ESU is over. I had some of the most amazing, unforgettable food ever at the food truck festival and I’m already looking forward to going again next year.

4. Grab some crazy delicious popcorn at Popcorn Buddha.
Popcorn Buddha is one of the coolest places in the Pocono area. They have popcorn selections that range from so many different, exciting, and delicious flavors and colors. I’m obsessed with their strawberry popcorn and their cheese one.

5. Become a college mentor.
Being a mentor has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my entire time here at ESU. Having the opportunity to help students that are so awesome has truly been the highlight of ESU for me.

6. Stop by the Writing Studio to have your paper checked by a tutor.
Even if it’s something as simple as the introduction paragraph to your essay, the Writing Studio can help you. They have tutors that are knowledgeable and tons of worksheets if you’re in a hurry. They really are helpful; I should know, I used to work there!

7. Create a resume that will be sure to wow your future employers.
When entering into the work force, you want to set yourself apart as much as possible from your competition. If you visit the Career Development office, they’ll be willing to help you as much as possible with building up your own work force identity.

8. Attend Law Enforcement Day.
CJ majors, you know how Law Enforcement day is a great networking opportunity for us. We are able to meet with law enforcement agencies that can give us amazing info about what our future professions are really like.
