Which Rom Com Should You Watch, Based On Your Zodiac Sign?
Watching a rom com is always a good idea, but sometimes finding the right one to watch is difficult. Some characters are spoilt, some just plain annoying, and most of the movies seem to follow the same formula.
Find the perfect rom com to watch at your next movie night by matching it to your (or your guests’) zodiac signs!
Aries (March 21 – April 19)
You’re a leader; with a take-charge attitude, you always like to stand out as an individual. You’re someone who doesn’t like to sit back and watch as other people take control of your life. You’re a perfect match to Julianne in My Best Friend’s Wedding (1997). Finding out your best friend is getting married is a happy time—just not when you’re in love with him. Watch Julianne attempt to stop the wedding however she can, even if it means calling in her eccentric friend.
Taurus (April 20 – May 20)
As a stable, hardworking, though sometimes stubborn person, there is nothing you love more than watching characters who share these traits. Margaret Tate is an ambitious editor-in-chief in New York when she gets the news that she is to be deported back to Canada. The only logical thing to do is bribe her assistant into being her fiancé, right? The Proposal (2009) is a comedic take on a romantic cliche.
Gemini (July 21 – June 20)
Gemini’s don’t get a lot of love these days even though they’re witty, charismatic, and chatty. Put a spring back into your step with a new take on old rom com traits. Isn’t It Romantic (2019) stars Rebel Wilson in the main role, and she despises the good old romantic comedy. Too bad she’s stuck in one.
The next days of her life are seriously swoon-worthy—but maybe it’s time to get back to reality.
Cancer (July 21 – June 22)
As feminine, sensitive souls, Cancer’s are the perfect audience for a classic rom com, and few can beat Notting Hill (1999). This Hugh Grant/Julia Roberts love story takes place behind a big blue door, with a loveable (and gross) roommate, and a travel-bookstore. A perfect movie on finding your one, true love.
Leo (July 23 – August 22)
Leo’s are loud, proud, dramatic, and a little egotistic. A current and popular rom com choice is Crazy Rich Asians (2018), based on the best-selling novel by Kevin Kwan. Being in love is a beautiful thing unless his family has anything to say about it. When Rachel and Nick travel to Singapore, she has no idea what she’s in for!
Virgo (August 23 – September 22)
You’re a clean perfectionist, who can be analytical, although slightly uptight. To translate; you’re a classic. A classic viewer needs a classic movie, and the most classic rom com of all time is Pretty Woman (1990). It’s the story of an escort, businessman, and their (Spoiler Alert!) eventual fairy-tale ending.
Libra (September 23 – October 22)
As a fair leader and moody romantic, a tumultuous rom com is the only one you want to watch on a quiet Friday night. Look no further, Four Weddings and A Funeral (1994) is a movie you won’t regret watching, filled with love, loss, and laughs.
You’ll need your tissues for this one.
Scorpio (October 23 – November 22)
You’re crazy protective, absolutely intense, and fiercely competitive; you’ll love the classic rom com, Sweet Home Alabama (2002). It’s the story of a successful fashion designer who is about to get married to her NYC boyfriend, too bad she’s already married to someone back home. This is a love that lasts a lifetime.
Sagittarius (November 23 – December 21)
You can be kind of awkward, but you easily balance this out with your adventurous spirit, and outspoken personality, just like Bridget. It’s the mostly awkward, always funny story of a woman just trying to find love in London. Plus, it gave us one of the best love interests in Mark Darcy. Bridget Jone’s Diary (2001) is a movie everyone has heard of, but if you haven’t watched it yet, now is your chance.
Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)
If your birthday falls somewhere around December 25, chances are you’ll see this movie on TV anyway. Love Actually (2003) is the classic Christmas rom com, mainly because there are so many types of love in this film—it’s even in the title. Grab some tissues, snacks, and a warm drink, and transport yourself to Christmas, even in the middle of July.
Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)
You’re an eccentric though friendly person, and the normal bores you. Be a rebel and enjoy sword fighting and jokes with the cult favourite, The Princess Bride (1987). It’s a fairy-tale story of a damsel and pirate, poison and marriage. With lines you will annoy your friends quoting, it’s the perfect film for an Aquarian on their night off.
Pisces (February 19 – March 20)
As a Pisces, you’re a compassionate dreamer with a sensitive lean. Your suspicious nature can be a downfall, so give it a break with this 90’s classic, 10 Things I Hate About You (1999). Based on a Shakespeare play (The Taming of the Shrew), watch Michael as he helps Cameron, as he tries to date Bianca, who tries to date Joey, who needs Patrick to date Kat so they can all go to the prom. What could go wrong?
