The Weirdest Trends Of 2018 And How To Wear Them

mm
These trends of 2018 for hair and makeup are stunning. The trends forecast 2018 is looking like a lot of daring eye makeup and corset braids.

We all love a good beauty trend, but some of them can be a little more out there than others. We’re only halfway through the year and already there’s been a fair amount of crazy beauty trends hitting our Instagram feeds. However, though they may seem a little strange,  you can actually easily make the weirdest trends of 2018 wearable.

1. Graphic Liner

Graphic liner was a big hit on the catwalks this year and anyone can see why. The crazy lines, dots and bright colours used immediately grab your attention and give the models a slightly fantastical look. If you want to wear graphic liner in a less just-off-the-catwalk way, use a felt liner pen to do a couple of dots either in your lower lash line or on the tail end of your eyeliner, or get yourself a white or light blue liquid eyeliner and use it instead of your normal black one. This is a fun way to keep your makeup looking fresh and interesting.

2. Feather Eyebrows

This trend was actually made as a bit of a joke by makeup artist Stella Sironen, who made created this look after brushing her eyebrows out. Usually, center partings are for hair rather than brows, but this look can actually be used – maybe not as drastically as Sironen does it. To do something a little out there with your brows for a festival or a party, use brow gel and a spoolie to mess your brows up and feather them to your heart’s content. If you really want to go duper out there, part your brows as Sironen does then put some glitter, metallic foil or some gems down the center part. You’re sure to turn heads where ever you wear these brows.

3. Ombre Lashes

Ombre lashes are done by layering coloured mascara on top of black mascara to create an interesting yet colourful look. This trend is actually one of the most wearable of the weird trends, and is perfect for festival season as your lashes can be as bright as your clothes. Simply do your mascara as usual, then layer whatever colour mascara you want onto the top half of your lashes, concentrating the colour on the ends to create a cool ombre look. If you want to add a little something extra, layer glitter mascara on top of the coloured part. This is one of the trends of 2018 that will make you stand out!

4. Floral Eyeliner

Floral eyeliner is possibly one of the cutest of the weird trends this year – but also the most difficult to do. Since most of us do not have a full makeup team to work on us at home, to recreate the full floral look, you’ll need a steady hand, a lot of times and a lot of different colours of cream eyeshadow or eyeliner. To make this trend less high maintence, simply draw one or two flowers in white liquid eyeliner near or on the flick of your pre-drawn black eyeliner and add the details in with black eyeliner.

5. Corset Braids

Corset braids, whilst undeniably a weird tend of 2018, are also seriously cool. However, they do require a lot of effort and some arm-aching plaiting if you want to get the authentic look. To recreate the look in a way that won’t have you feeling like you just did an hour’s arm workout at the gym, simply clip hair rings into your braids and thread ribbon through these. To finish, either tie the ribbon under your plait if you wish to hide it, or in a bow once you’ve threaded it rhough all the hair rings, if you’d like to have it on show. This is one of the trends of 2018 that will differentiate your hair style.
