Sometimes a relationship with someone can feel begin to feel a little monotonous. You may feel a little stuck as to what to do when you want something new and fun to spice up your relationship.
Well if that’s you, then here are 11 ways to help spice up your relationship with your significant other!
I love hiking and walks! Even if you feel like you are not a very adventurous individual or your partner isn’t much either, I can guarantee it will still be a lot of fun to get out and do something new.
There are so many benefits to hiking with someone. You can get some pretty cool pictures with each other, laugh about how unfit you may feel, and then go for a nice lunch or coffee afterward.
It’s something different. Usually, couples stay in and watch movies. But this, this is a great way to get some fresh air and maybe be a little competitive as to who is more fit.
Take them out! If you’re usually the one who doesn’t pay (if that’s how your relationship roles), then take them out to a place you love and spoil them. Again, its something that will make both of you feel important to one another and change up the routine. By taking them somewhere to a place you love, it will also show how much you value them by inviting them there for them to experience. Buy a nice dinner, have some dessert, and just chill. Let the night roll out and I guarantee it will be a night to remember.
Picnics are great! Particularly if you want to surprise your partner. Pick a nice spot somewhere that you know your partner will appreciate and set up a cute picnic. Somewhere not so busy and in a bushy environment is amazing!
It allows you both to bond with nature and feel alone with each other whilst enjoying the amazing food that you have prepared for them. This again shows your partner how much you value them and appreciate them being in their lives.
If you know your partner loves basketball, take them out to a game. Maybe they like to stay in and order a pizza. Do it! A relationship is all about compromising for each other so by doing this, it shows the other person you take an interest in things they like to do and also shows how much you know about them.
It will be greatly appreciated by your partner and even make you feel good too by knowing you’re making them feel great inside.
Invite your other half over and cook a beautiful meal for them. Even if you don’t know how to cook very well, an easy peasy spaghetti always goes down like a treat.
Follow it up with a nice dessert and voila! A beautiful night in with your partner. Make it even better by trying to cook something you know they love. It will make them feel important.
I find that with any relationship, it’s so important to just be able to be fully present with each other and just talk. No technology, no distractions, just both of you talking about things. It can be anything from the things you love, or maybe something you’re struggling with in life at the moment.
Being able to be fully open with someone is an important aspect of a relationship and if you can’t talk to the person you’re with, you need to learn how to or re-evaluate the relationship.
See this one is a scary one, but it doesn’t have to be. I find that talking about the future really helps strengthen and build a relationship with someone. Talk about what to want to accomplish in life, dream jobs, and anything that you may want to happen in the future. If you’re feeling gutsy, you can even talk about marriage, kids, and things that can seem quite vulnerable in the moment.
Trust me, talking about what you both want in the future has to happen at one stage, particularly if you’re thinking about potentially starting a life with this person. It’s really not as scary as you believe it is!
This one is super fun! Get some of their friends and your friends in a relationship, and get out on a double date. This is particularly fun if you do something like go to the arcade or bowling and have some friendly competition with the other couples. It will definitely spice up your relationship with the person you’re with!
Just. Do.It. I promise, not only will it feel amazing (who doesn’t love massages) but it can definitely get a little more fun if you know what I mean. Start off slow and gently massage into their skin with some oils, and give them your full attention. Take turns to make each other feel relaxed and comfortable and be fully present with your partner.
This one is very broad. Maybe you and your partner have discussed things you want to do but are too scared to do. It can range from something adventurous like a run, trying new foods, skydiving? Whatever it is, talk about it with your partner, and just get out and try it! I promise that it’s always so much fun and no regrets are usually, ever made.
This one is so weird and don’t get me wrong, I am a super loveable, huggable person, but I find the less I say “I love you” to someone and the less I hear it, the more special it becomes when it is said.
Again, I am definitely not encouraging you to stop telling someone you love them, that’s not healthy. But maybe limit how much you say it so that way when you do, it’s so much more special and maybe you’ll even get some butterflies in your stomach.
