10 Vegans Recipes To Tickle Your Tastebuds
New to being vegan or a seasoned vet, we all need some new recipes to tickle our taste buds every now and then. Here are some recipes I have tried ( and a few that I haven’t) that are sure to make you wonder why you ever weren’t vegan.
1. Cinnamon Rolls
This is one vegan recipe I have tried and tested myself and the results are delicious! There is quite a lot of admin required with this recipe ( with having to prove the dough and what not) but the end result is well worth the wait. The recipe does not require a lot of ingredients so it is not an expensive treat to make and the recipe is super simple.
2. Banana Cake
I always bake a banana cake when my fruit bowl is full of bananas on the turn. It’s a great way to reduce waste and is a great snack! Here is a recipe I used recently to make a vegan banana cake, I found the mixture was a tad stiff but I just added some almond milk and it was the perfect consistency.
3. Tofu Scramble
My fab friend told me about Tofu Scramble and it is a great alternative to scrambled eggs that you can play around with based on your own preferences. Seasoning is key with tofu but if you can get it right then it can be delicious.
4. Pasta
Most dried pastas do not contain eggs and so are vegan. The sauces and toppings are up to you but it is very easy to make a vegan pasta dish from scratch. With the addition of some tomatoes or mushrooms, you can make some simple delicious pasta dishes.
5. Lentil Burgers
Vegan burgers come in lots of different varieties. Lentil, spicy bean or vegetable – all of which are delicious. These lentil burgers are great in a bun but also with a side salad and some fries. This vegan recipe is great with the addition of some fresh coriander and a dollop of mango chutney.
6. Butternut Squash Soup
Soups are an easy meal to make vegan. For the most part, they are just vegetables, seasoning and vegetable stock. They can be easily whipped up with a blender or soup maker and soups made with hearty autumnal vegetables like Butternut Squash are so warming and delicious.
7. Vegan Brownies
Vegan treats are hard to come by and vegan chocolate treats is certainly something I’ve found hard to come by. This vegan recipe is much like your regular brownie recipes but instead eggs to hold the mixture together you use flaxseeds which are full of fibre and all sorts of good things.
8. Buffalo Cauliflower Tacos
Cauliflower is used in so many vegan recipes and buffalo cauliflower is an incredible way to spice up and otherwise bland piece of veg. Similarly to other dishes, you can add to tacos as you’d like with sauces and toppings galore. Plus they are super quick to make and ever quicker to eat!
9. Thai Green Curry
Curry is so delicious and I could not bear to part with. Luckily even with a vegan diet, you can enjoy a delicious curry. You can substitute meat for tofu or Quorn or another alternative. The great thing about many Thai curry dishes is that the base of them is made with coconut milk so they do not contain much dairy to begin with.
10. Pancakes
So many breakfast cereals are vegan anyway but pancakes are a special breakfast dish that is easily made vegan with the use of alternative milk. You can jazz them up however you please, and they honestly do not taste any different.
