Whether you’re a struggling student or just hoping to save up for something special, we all could do with some side money every now and then. Here are seven websites you can use to earn side money right now!
Opinion Outpost is a survey website. There are plenty of websites similar to it online, but not all of them are as good as this. Each survey will earn you at least 25p, with some going for 75p each. You can start cashing out your earnings as soon as you reach £2.50, which happens a lot quicker than you’d think! The surveys can be anything from 5 minutes to 30 minutes long, and the pay changes depending on the length of the survey. Perfect for when you have some spare time on your hands! Another great bonus feature on Opinion Outpost is that they enter you into a prize draw for every survey you complete – and every time you are rejected from a survey! This means that you can easily rack up hundreds of entries into the prize draw which, if you are picked, will earn you £1000! This is a fantastic website for earning side money.
Qmee is another survey website but it is slightly more user friendly and fun than Opinion Outpost – and it has its own app! Qmee offers surveys on lots of different topics, each with their own reward. The app also encourages you to return everyday by offering more money after you gain a five day streak. Another great feature of Qmee is that you can add it as a browser extension on your computer and it will reward you with money for visiting certain sites. It is usually only about 6p, but it all adds up! Earning money could not be easier! Qmee also has the added benefit of an adorable mascot named Oinq who will keep you company whilst you earn that side money.
Swagbucks has a lot of different feautres and they might not all appeal to you, so you can pick and choose what you want to do with this site. For starters, the Swagbucks Answer app is a survey platform that is full of surveys which offer lots of points. Swagbucks can also be installed in your browser and will give you points for visiting sites, signing up for different businesses, and watching videos. Finally, there is Swagbucks Live, which is a gameshow you participate in on your phone to win thousands of points. Once you’ve earned enough points, you can trade them in for prizes such as vouchers, gift cards, and plenty of other goodies! Swagbucks does require quite a lot of points before you can pay out, so you might need to dedicate some time to it. Beware of that.
Appen is more complicated than the other sites on this list – but it is definitely worth investing your time in. You have to register yourself as an independent contractor and then set up an account through their payment service. It is not as difficult as it sounds. Once you are signed up, you can choose from a list of tasks which range from data input, photography, and voice recording for AI testing! The work is really varied and it pays well too. Appen is also particularly useful for if you are trying to earn a lot of money as they issue invoices, meaning it is a lot easier to track what you’ve made for tax purposes. They also have a great support team if you ever encounter any issues.
Clickworker is a similar concept to Appen in that you sign up and complete tasks. The projects on Clickworker do not earn you a huge amount of money, but they are more varied and interesting than a lot of the other websites on this list. They range from AI training to keyword categorization to crowdsourcing. Sign up and take a browse. There will be something for you on there! Clickworker also have an app that you can download to your phone, meaning you can regularly check for new jobs and sign up easily. Like Appen, this is a slightly more engaging way to earn money than simply completing surveys.
This website is a great way to earn side money if you have some sort of skill or talent. The purpose of the site originally was to hire somebody to perform a task for you at the charge of £5. However, nowadays everyone sets their own rates. Popular skills on the website are writing music or lyrics, web design, programming, art or digital art, and copywriting. If you have any kind of skill you think people may be willing to pay for, sign yourself up! People are often hired to write score for short films or student productions, to help ghost write books, to create websites for start up businesses or up and coming artists, or to create commissioned art pieces. This will allow you to get exposure for your work and earn money for it! It’s a win-win!
People for Research is the only website on this list that makes you leave the comfort of your bedroom. This site calls for individuals to participate in research. Not all of the research programs will be relevant to you – but some of them will. The good news is this site pays really well – sometimes over £100! Some tasks will call for you to physically attend a focus group or research meeting whilst others will ask for you to communicate via Skype. These can be on anything from how you use energy in your home, to how your business buys in stock, to your experience studying in a foreign country. There are also product and app testing sessions where you will try out something and report your feedback live to the researchers over the phone or a video call. It is a fun way to earn some side money!
