With graduation slowly creeping up on all third and final year students nationwide, many – like myself – are in apprehension of life after uni. Even if you’re not a final year university student I’m sure you know at least one person who’s about to embark on a new chapter in their lives, leaving behind shared houses in rough neighbourhoods and 9am lectures (that nobody actually went to let’s be honest…)
So what better way than to treat a soon-to-be-graduate than giving them a gift! We all love a good gift! Now choosing unique graduation gifts doesn’t necessarily have to expensive or tricky. I mean, I wouldn’t decline the offer of someone’s gift to me being to pay off my student overdraft but one can only hope!
Regardless of your budget (but moms, dads, remember this is your child after all,) there is such a wide range of suitable and unique graduation gifts! From pillows to vinyls to a couple of 20 quid notes, check out the 10 Unique Graduation Gifts below!
What do all postgrads really want? Money. When do they want it? Now. If you’re a student and soon-to-be graduate then your finances have most likely been a rollercoaster of a ride for the past three years; from extending overdrafts to fund your addiction to 2-4-1 shots at the club, to having to pay the late fees on the books you rented from the library (that you still didn’t even fucking read.) While giving a grad some cash may seem meaningless and unthoughtful trust me when I say it’s not!
Coffee is pretty much an essential in everyday life. I mean, who needs lunch when you can have a cappuccino and a cigarette? However living a luxurious lifestyle of caramel macchiato’s and blonde roasted lattes can be an expensive one, so why not give your grad a “proper fancy” coffee machine (and when I say fancy, I mean fancyyyy! – this is graduation after all! You only get one!)

If you’re really adamant on not giving out cash *cough* my mom *cough* then perhaps a gift card is more suited to your old-fashioned views. Amazon is a safe option because they literally have everything; clothes? Tick. Aftershave? Tick. Azealia Banks colouring book? Tick.
Getting a good nights sleep is a crucial and integral part of becoming an “adult.” Long gone are the days of being able to live off 4 hours sleep after an all night session. No, unfortunately it’s all about bed by 10 and up at 6 for upcoming graduates, and what better way to help ease them into that than a fluffy and soft pillow!

To be honest, graduation is just one big Instagram opportunity isn’t it? From the hats in the air to the boomerangs in the gowns, your insta story and feed will be spot on! So why not print the pics off and put them in some cute frames.; good vibes only.

The days of pulling on a pair of joggers and slipping into some sliders ready for your 9am lecture are no more. Unfortunately, in most cases post-graduate jobs don’t usually allow you to waltz in, donning a causal / borderline-homeless looking attire. It’s much more smarter and serious, expect shirts and jackets and trousers and blazers and omg it hurts just thinking about it… not to mention it can get quite pricey trying to spice up your wardrobe! I guess the best bet is a brand new wardrobe and what a coincidence that graduation is coming up!
While personalised items aren’t exactly up everyone’s street, this is a graduation present we’re talking about, and is something you’ll want to remember when riding your stairlift in 40 years time and forgetting where you’ve put your glasses.

Help your graduate get to work in time with a stylish watch. Unfortunately for grads it’s no longer strolling into lectures mid-afternoon, instead it’s all about the 9-5 hours, five days a week lifestyle. *sigh*

If you’re getting a graduation gift for a music lover then why not try a vinyl player. Add some more magic to the gift by bundling it with a few of their favourite records!

University may be over but pencils always come in handy! This gift is both sentimental and sensible and will look cute af on the grads new desk at work.
