The problem with gluten-free diets is that gluten is replaced with sugar, unhealthy oils and refined grains like corn starch or tapioca starch. These refined starches lead to rapid spikes in blood sugar, and are extremely low in essential nutrients.

2. Pizzas

One slice of delivered pizza can contain a full day’s worth of sodium depending on the toppings and type of crust you order. Try to cut on processed meat and cheese when choosing your toppings.

3. Margarine

Margarine is used to be considered a healthy alternative to butter. It contains a high percentage of trans fat, which is considered the worst fat to eat. Trans fat is a toxic fat that you should avoid. It increases bad cholesterol and damages blood vessels. You are better using real butter than margarine.

4. Potato chips

It is not a secret, that potato chips are bad for your health. Sweet potato chips are a healthier option. Sweet potatoes are high in vitamin B6, which help reduce heart deseases. The are also high in vitamin C, vitamin D, iron and magnesium.

Most white breads are made with unrefined wheat, which is low in essential nutrients and leads to a rapid spike in blood sugar. Whole-grain bread is a great option as it contains more fibres and nutrients.

We all know that fast-food is bad for our health. I understand that sometime you might not want to cook and ordering fast-food is the easy solution.
