10 Travel Essentials To Buy ASAP

Summer is at your doorstep, and you are waiting to just get away on a weekend somewhere far far away – and warm, if possible. One of the most stressful things before taking off is probably to prepare your bag – will everything you want to bring fit in your travel bag? Did you forget something? Surely, you don’t want to pay extra for a big luggage or being stuck at the airport because you forgot your passport at home… Keep in mind as well that the duration of your gateway away is to take into consideration when you pack – a 2 weeks stay in a foreign country cannot compare to a weekend.

Here, at Society19, we decided to help you out by doing this simple list of 10 travel essentials for you to buy ASAP.

1. The Right Travel Bag

Buy the travel bag you need depending on the duration of your travel. A medium travel bag – such as the flexible, ever resistant and highly water-resistant Mulberry Scotch-grain bag as shown below- or a suitcase.

Shop the leather travel bag:

2. Passport holder/ Travel wallet

Obviously, try not to forget your passport at home. And to maximise your chances of doing so, buy a travel wallet or a passport holder to put all of your IDs and official papers. Do not forget about the visa.

3. Padlocks

Wherever you go nowadays, padlocks seem to be THE travel essential. Indeed, whether you are staying at a hostel, backpacking or else, you can never be too safe.

4. World adaptor/ charger for phone/ power bank

Buy a world adaptor so that you can charge your phone anywhere. Alternatively, you can invest in a power bank so that you can carry it around and not worry that you need a plug, an adapter or actually electricity.

Shop the item:

5. Mini set of make up

Just take what you need for your feminine hygiene, a small spray bottle with some perfume, the essentials of makeup such as mascara.

Shop these items:

6. Medicine

Take with you some paracetamol, antihistamine, especially if you are sensitive allergy wise as you don’t know how your body will react. Think about vaccines as well if you are going to certain countries.

Shop the item:

7. A Hoodie

Wherever you go, you need that comfortable piece of clothing in which you can feel at ease just like when at home. You can sleep in it, it is warm, easily put on top of a t-shirt if you are a bit cold. Taking a hoodie or a sweater is an excellent idea.

8. Book

You have to keep yourself distracted if you are planning to sit on an airplane for a few hours. Distraction is also a good way to cope with anxiety and feel less stressed. Bring your favourite book, or watch a movie if you can. Time will fly!

Shop this book:

9. Headphones

Going away without music is just… sad and boring to say the least. Listen to Spotify in these noise cancelling headphones and enjoy your trip. It is a truth universally acknowledged: you always need headphones – just for the sake of enjoying some ‘me’ time.

Shop this item:

10. iPad

Your phone might or might not be connected to your Cloud, it is just not practical to work on it – even if you have the latest IPhone. Take your iPad instead of your computer and work from it, read a book if you want to save space, play games, keep all your booking details in it… there is so much you can do with an IPad.
