All Of The Tips We Have On How To Save Money Fast On A Low Income

Saving money can be the hardest thing, it’s knowing where to draw the line with what you need and what you want. Saving money can be even harder if you’re on low income and have rent, bills and other necessities to pay as well as trying to save some money on the side. It’s important to remember that it can be done so check out these tips on how to save money fast on a low income!

Money back from when you shop

I know Lloyds do it and some other banks or companies might but every month there are certain companies that will give you cash back rewards if you spend money on their products and services using your card. The percentage might be different depending on the company and these tend to change often but it really does mount up eventually!

Plan your shopping for the month

By making a shopping list of food or household items you need it prevents overspending on things that just looked cheap and you actually didn’t need. Planning ahead keeps you on budget and means you get everything you needed. It also means you won’t have to run back to the shop because you forgot toilet paper and grabbed a few extra unnecessary items along the way. A more practical take on how to save money fast on a low income.

Buy used bits and bobs

Used electronics, cars, furniture or clothing, you can save a little bit of cash here and there when you choose to go secondhand. Although it probably isn’t ideal all the time, in the long run making small changes helps you save for what you need. Check out your local charity shops, they’re a goldmine sometimes and have some really great products that others failed to see their value!

Make those little changes

Maybe it’s taking a packed lunch to work or walking to the shop around the corner rather than drive. They might seem small and maybe even pointless but after weeks maybe even months, you’ll begin to see a difference.

Ditch the car

Walking or even riding your bike from A to B can really help to save when you’re on a low income. If where you need to go is within walking distance or maybe there is a safe track to cycle then why not. You’re saving on petrol money and helping the environment!

Get meal planning

Planning your meals in advance can be so helpful and prevent any waste. By writing down or using a handy app to plan what you’ll be eating every day will ensure you buy what you need and use up all those leftovers.

Perseverance is key

Keep at it! It might seem hard but if you can find ways to cut back then do it. It might be saying no to a meal out or eating leftovers for lunch but you’ll get there. It’ll all be worth it in the end!
