12 Things You’ll Regret Not Doing At While Attending UCA Epsom

There might be a few things you’ll regret not doing while at University. For me that’s most things. So here are some notable events to add to your diary while at UCA Epsom, to ensure that you don’t regret missing them when they role around.

1. Not Going To Paris

I can honestly say that this is one of the trips I regret not going on three years in a row. For 3 days in January, the Fashion Journalism course holds a trip to Paris that is an absolute must to go on. It’s an early start and bloody freezing when you get there, but it’s an amazing trip that is definitely worth the 3am start. Don’t regret missing the chance to explore Paris with UCA Epsom!

2. Not Going To Amsterdam

Another fantastic trip of the things you’ll regret not doing or missing out on. Like the Paris trip, this excursion is another few days extravaganza that is an early start but worth it. The places are held for Music Journalism at UCA Epsom but that doesn’t mean you won’t get the chance. Places that aren’t filled are first come first served, so snap up your ticket and you won‘t have the option to regret missing this trip.

3. Not Going To New York

I wanna be a part of it…but sadly no one showed much interest so the trip never went ahead. This is my biggest regret and if you don’t want it to be yours than I suggest you spark up everyone’s interest because after all who doesn’t want to go to New York? You may as well go while you can get it a little cheaper so don’t regret missing this trip during your time at UCA Epsom!

4. Not Getting An Internship

In your second year and internship is a must and if you don’t get one, it might be your biggest things you’ll regret not doing while at UCA Epsom. You see, employers really do look for them on your CV nowadays and even though it might seem like a lot for very little, it might be the difference between getting a job and not getting one in the future. Find your dream internship early and don’t miss out of the opportunity of getting one.

5. Not Going To Your Tutorials

Okay so this Isn’t a trip or something fun, but that doesn’t mean you should be skipping out on tutorials. They are a really helpful bit of time and information at a very difficult time of the year at UCA Epsom and missing one could lead to missing out something vital in an essay or even your dissertation. I know they’re long and they might be early, but they’re worth it so attend them save yourself the regret of not going.

6. Not Going To Fashion First

This event at UCA Epsom is free to attend is great for putting yourself into the job sphere. Great companies like ASOS and Kurt Geiger are there for you to meet and there are various talks about how to get into the industry. There are also CV workshops and business card workshops. It’s essentially everything you need to start your job life. It’s one full day and 100% worth your time. Don’t regret not attending.

7. Not Going To Graduate Fashion Week

You’ll get the opportunity to help out UCA Epsom at graduate fashion week in London. This is an awesome event that has you representing the university but also allows you to get yourself out there. You’ll get to watch the shows and attend the different events there, and it gives you the chance to work in time slots, so you will have free time to do as you please. This is a huge one of the things you’ll regret not doing if you don’t attend this event.

8. Not Going To The Epsom Graduate Show

This event is one campus and gives you the chance to appreciate the UCA Epsom graduates hard work during their final year at the university. It also means you can get a glimpse of what you’ll be doing in your final year and gives you a heads up on how to go about construction within the time you’re given. This is the time to give yourself a helping hand and you’ll regret it if you don’t at least have a look.

9. Not Going Into London

You’re in Epsom for god’s sake. It is a 40 minute journey to London Waterloo or London Victoria and then there are a plethora of tube journeys that will take you anywhere you want to go in London. If you’re no taking the full advantage of having England’s capital city that close, then you may as well go to university in the north! It’s right there and you’ll regret it if you don’t explore London at least once while at UCA Epsom!

10. Not Going To An Open Day

If you’re thinking about going to UCA Epsom then it might be a good idea to go to at least one of the University Open Days. It gives you a chance to get to grips with the campus, meet the professors that’ll be teaching you and get a glimpse of what studying at UCA is really like. They’re a free event that’ll be a helping hand if/when you come to study here, so don’t regret avoiding your open day.

11. Not Going To Paris Mark II

Hear me out. One of my flat mates took a trip to Paris just to do a photoshoot for the day while studying at UCA Epsom. And when you think about it, the journey is only an hour longer than the trip into London. Plus, if you play your cards right, you can get some really cheap travel. This one is something I never did, but having Paris so close, I do regret not going just by myself or with my partner. Have a think about it, because it might be something you’ll regret in time.

12. Not Going To The Library

I know what you’re thinking: this one sounds stupid. But the UCA Epsom library is full of films, tv series, magazine issues and books that you can literally abuse the sh*t out of for free. Any series you really wanted to watch but can’t find anywhere? Check the library. Is there a film you want to watch, but don’t want to pay for? Check the library. Or what about a book you’ve been dying to read? LIBRARY. Seriously, if you don’t go there at least once, it will be one of the things you’ll regret not doing.
