The Worst Lush Products To Avoid Purchasing

mm
Although Lush has some great products, some just don't meet the standard. Here's our list of worst lush products, that you should proabably avoid buying.

Here’s a list of the worst lush products you should totally avoid buying. Let’s face it, we’ve all been lured into a Lush store at least once in our lives. There’s just something about all the fun colours, the mix of scents and the general lively atmosphere that makes one feel like a kid in a candy store. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big Lush fan myself and a big believer in what they stand for. But, there are some products in their line up that are simply not worth purchasing. Keep in mind these are the worst Lush products, so you don’t waste your money next time you’re in store!

1. Queen Bee Hair Honey

Lush has a great range of honey products, from hair care to lip balms, to shower gels. Unfortunately, Queen Bee Hair Honey is one of the honey products that you should definitely skip. Granted, this probably works for really coarse hair, but on any other hair type this will just leave your locks feeling super sticky and overloaded; which is why it’s on our list of worst lush products.

2. Aqua Marina Facial Cleanser

Some people swear by the effects of this cleanser, but it’s just really, really hard to get past the awful smell. For something that you’ll have to put on your face at least once a day, the fishy smell is really quite off-putting. This is definitely the worst cleanser in Lush’s cleanser and scrub range, and I would definitely recommend avoiding it.

3. Pearl Massage Bar

Now this massage bar has a lovely scent, so it’s a shame that using it is just incredibly uncomfortable. Lush’s massage bars are some of my favourites, but I would definitely avoid purchasing the Pearl massage bar. This massage bar has tapioca pearls in it that have a texture that is quite nice on the skin at first, but after some time, the pearls just end up breaking off and scratching your skin. I’d save my money and skip this product if I were you.

4. Ro’s Argan Gourmet Soap

This is another Lush product that smells amazing but is just a mess to deal with. The scent is heavenly, but the rose petals on top of the soap make every shower experience a bit of a hassle. The petals either clog the drain or scratch your skin. Some shoppers recommend taking the petals off before use, but I don’t see the point in spending that much money on a product that you’ll only end up taking apart. If you enjoy the scent, I’d recommend going for Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner instead, or waiting for the limited edition Rose Jam shower gel to come out during Christmas. Definitely aesthetically pleasing, however it’s not very useful- which is why it is on our list of worst lush products.

5. Solid Conditioners

I don’t have a specific product to avoid in the Lush solid conditioner range. Rather, I would recommend avoiding Lush’s solid conditioners altogether. Lush is usually pretty good with haircare, but their range of solid conditioners just don’t seem to do much. They take a while to lather and don’t glide onto hair as smoothly as regular conditioners. They also tend to fall apart and crumble and you’ll need to buy a separate dish to store them in for the shower. All in all, just not a very easy product to use, so definitely worth avoiding!

6. Rosy Cheeks Face Mask

There’s nothing really awful about this mask, it’s just that compared to the rest of the masks that Lush has to offer it really doesn’t do much. It also promises smoother, calmed skin but is actually quite drying and left my skin feeling quite tight. This is one of the worst face masks in the range, so I would recommend avoiding this and opting for a mask that does far more for your skin.

7. Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub

Unless you’re in the mood to scrub your entire face off, I’d definitely recommend avoiding this product when at Lush, especially if you have sensitive skin! The salt bits in this scrub are just far too harsh to be used on the face and have left my skin feeling really raw and irritated. Perhaps if your skin is used to harsh exfoliation this might be fine for you, but I can’t really see this working for anyone else. Despite the hype this receives online, this is truly one of the worst Lush products out there.

8. T’Eo Solid Deodorant

This product is not only a hassle to use, but the crumbly texture is quite painful for the skin on your underarms. Although the concept is quite smart, avoid purchasing this product if you have sensitive skin, as it may just cause redness and irritation in your underarm area.
