The Ultimate Southampton Bucket List You Should Try

There is so much to do and see in the city of Southampton. It is located on the South Coast of England and is a port city. Although Southampton is enriched in history, from Tudor houses, art galleries and sky museums to name a few, there is something for everyone. Besides its hundreds of years of culture and history, Southampton is a particularly modern and vibrant city. It has a fabulous marina with modern hotels and restaurants. Not to mention, the West Quay is a fabulous hub for shopping and dining. There is also plenty of night clubs as well as green space for the public. There is nothing this city doesn’t have, so if you live or are visiting Southampton, keep on reading to find out the ultimate Southampton bucket list.

1. Visit the terrific Tudor house and garden:

If you are in Southampton, you have to visit the Tudor house. It is the city’s most important historic building with 800 years of history in a brilliant location the Old town. The Tudor house gives a unique and atmospheric insight into the lives and times of the residents that once lived there. This historic house is a brilliant visit for all ages where you can experience activities, interactive technology and amazing displays. If you haven’t visited this yet, you should!

2. The place you must stay:

If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Southampton, the Harbour hotel and spa in Ocean Village is breath taking. The yacht inspired designed for the hotel oozes luxury. Not only is the hotel a contemporary wonder, the hotel also offers an award-winning restaurant and a spa. Not to mention one of the city’s hottest roof top bars which can be enjoyed year-round. The Harbar is the spectacular rooftop bar which is open to everyone. Here you can enjoy the most amazing wood fire pizza or cocktails as the sun is setting. The Jetty restaurant opens out to an outdoor terrace, which has comfy pods which you can sit in and enjoy a view out onto the marina. If you want a taste of luxury either for a day or somewhere amazing to stay in Southampton, then I thoroughly recommend staying here during your Southampton bucket list.

3. The open greenery:

Fortunately, in Southampton, it isn’t short of green space, in particular Southampton common is the largest open space with its first dating going back to 1228 and some evidence suggesting even earlier than that. The 365 acres features woodland, rough grassland, ponds and wet lakes in this fantastic space for the city of Southampton. There is an abundance of plants and variety of wildlife that call the common their home. If you haven’t visited this space, it should definitely be on your Southampton bucket list.

4. Super shopping:

If you love Shopping, then West Quay does not disappoint. The amazing shopping centre located in the city centre has an amazing 130 shops including a range of major retailers such as John Lewis, Zara, Apple and Victoria Secret to name a few. Not to mention it has a whole top floor of dining to be enjoyed from fast food to restaurant quality dining. Besides West Quay, Southampton also has a range of other shops. On the high street outside of West Quay you can find Superdrug, Boots and Primark to name a few. You won’t be short of amazing shops to visit, that is for sure.

5. Clubbing haven:

If you love a night out, Southampton does not disappoint with its range of clubs. If you are looking for a rememberable night out, I suggest heading to Bedford Place. Here you will find a hub of amazing bars and clubs!
