Southampton Solent university offers a range of different university accommodations dotted all across the city of Southampton that offer different requirements and services. The dorms you choose can really change the experience you have at university. So if you are applying for Southampton Solent university and want to find out more, or are trying to pick an accommodation that suits you best, then keep on reading to find out the different dorms that may be best for you!

Deanery residence:

Deanery student residence is about a ten-minute walk to campus and the town centre, meaning it is in a good central location.  This is an important factor to consider when choosing your halls, depending on how willing you are to travel. Deanery is great for you if you don’t want to do much travelling as it is all in walking distance. Deanery is also perfect if you like your own personal space, but also love to socialise and make friends.

If you stay at Deanery residence you have your own bedroom and en-suite which is a real luxury. This means all your personal space will be your own for when you want to shower whenever you want with no queue or pressure to hurry. However, you have 7-10 other students who you can socialise with in the open kitchen/lounge area or the common room. Deanery also has a daily cleaner for the kitchen which you will definitely need in a busy kitchen! So, if you are a social butterfly and are looking for an easier life where you also have your own personal amenities then this is the accommodation for you at £137.20 a week

Lucia Foster residence: For the social Butterfly

Lucia Foster is closer to Ocean Village where there are restaurants and bars by the water. It is the furthest from the University but still only a 20-minute walk or so. Lucia Foster is a massively social focused accommodation as you share all of the facilities apart from your bedroom. This will be great if you don’t mind sharing a bathroom and still want a cleaner to clean it for you. If you are a massive social butterfly, Lucia Foster is the accommodation for you with three common rooms including sky tv and a pool table to name a few. You can find the different prices for this accommodation on the Solent website, but it is cheaper than Deanery, being a non- ensuite.
