Grand Central – For All You Shopaholics!
Based right amongst the train station Grand Central has a decent amount of lovely shops & a variety of places to eat. There’s something different to try on each visit and it is spacious, airy and comfortable. Definitely worth a visit!

Get in and amongst the exciting world of broadcasting here in Birmingham! Get sneak peeks behind the scenes, let tour guides answer your questions and find out how ideas go from script to the screen. You can even have a go at making your own radio play!
Museum of the Jewellery Quarter – For History & Bling!
Amongst a perfectly preserved workshop here you can get an insight into the making of jewellery. Based of course, in Jewellery Quarter- where 40% of the UK’s jewellery is made! The museum also offers self-led galleries, one of which explore the history & development of Jewellery Quarter. Being the largest concentration of jewellers in Europe, you’re sure to find what you are looking for here!
Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre – Catch a Show!
Whether you enjoy the ballet, opera, pantomines, a drama or a good West End, Birmingham’s Hippodrome Theatre is the place to be! With an annual attendance of 600’000 it’s the busiest theatre in the UK!
Edgebaston Resevoir – Water Activities Anyone?
Want to forget that you’re in the middle of a busy city? This is where to go! As well as accommodating school trips; here you can go fishing, sailing, or let the rangers lead you around and tell you about Birmingham’s wildlife and green spaces. Sounds like there’s plenty to do here!
Library of Birmingham – Are You a Bookworm?
The 10th most popular UK attraction in 2014! This is the largest public library in the UK and the largest public cultural space in Europe! Located in Centenary Square, without a doubt, you’ll find the book you’re looking for in here!
Thinktank – For the Scientists Out There!
This is Birmingham’s award-winning science museum, it has 200 hands-on displays about science and technology! Definitely a place to go and learn in a fun way! There’s plenty of events and activities to take part in as well as the Planetarium and Science Garden to see.
The Mac – Entertainment & Arts Under this Roof!
This arts complex is host to theatre, dance, music, and comedy performances; as well as cinema & workshops. This is The Midlands most popular art centre. The mac also offers a variety of courses, including photography, jewellery making, sewing, life drawing & painting to name a few!
St Martins Church – Religious or Not- What a Building!
Standing between the bullring and markets- what a view! A place that needs to be seen – especially against the evening backdrop. As well as religious dates and events the church also hosts crafts and art fairs.
Martineu Gardens- For Lovers of Nature & Wildlife
Last, but certainly not least for our Birmingham bucket list, just 2 miles from the city centre Martineu Gardens is a beautifully therapeutic and community garden. There’s 2.5 acres of land to explore, a nature trail, an oasis for wildlife, and a sales area for plants and homemade jams.
