The Best Moments From RuPaul’s Drag Race

Not only does RuPaul’s Drag Race bless us with Queens who over contour their face, but with some amazing catty arguments that have us shocked and laughing.

Whether it’s in the workroom while everyone’s preparing for the runway or backstage during Untucked, these Queens know how to entertain an audience.

Here is a list of some of the best, and shocking, moments from RuPaul’s Drag Race (in no particular order whatsoever):

1. Shangela VS. Mimi Imfurst

From: Season 3

One of the best arguments to grace our screens, Shangela proved her attitude when she got into an argument with Mimi Imfurst during an episode of Untucked.

The argument began when Mimi Imfurst claimed that Shangela has a Sugar Daddy, which obviously did not go down well. Can I get a Hallelu?

Shangela provided us with one of the sickest burns in the entire herstory of RuPaul’s Drag Race and we love her for it.

2. Valentina’s Non-Lip Sync

From: Season 9

Arguably one of the prettiest Queens to be on RuPaul’s Drag race, surely Valentina would’ve been a shoo in to win the title. However, as we all know, it’s not all about looks on RuPaul’s Drag Race.

When Valentina found herself in the bottom 2, she was made to lip sync. Completely unprepared, Nina Bonina Brown knew what she was doing, whereas Valentina had a mask covering her lips and did not know the lyrics, either.

So, once RuPaul asked her to remove her mask, things did not go well for Valentina. “I’d like to keep it on, please” will forever be remembered.

3. Brooke Lynn Hytes’ Runway Looks

From: Season 11

Brooke Lynn happened to be a favourite in everyone’s hearts during Season 11 and it wasn’t only for her GIF worthy expressions or romance with Vanjie, but also for her sickening runway showstoppers.

A design challenge is when Brooke Lynn is in her strongest, because she knows she will ace it every time. From the first episode to the very last one, she has delivered amazing outfits that wowed us all.

4. “Get Those Nuts Away From My Face”

From: Season 4

Latrice Royale was a fan favourite during the previous season of RuPaul’s Drag Race and it’s because she has an amazing laugh and is unbelievably funny.

During an acting challenge, Latrice stole the spotlight away from her fellow teammates and did it wonderfully. And thus, a new catch phrase was born on RuPaul’s Drag Race.

5. Adore Delano And Bianca Del Rio’s Friendship

From: Season 6

What first began as a rivalry (if that’s what you call two Queens who can’t stand each other), blossomed into a wonderful friendship from both parts.

They both made it to the final three, and Bianca Del Rio went on to win the title of America’s Drag Superstar with Adore right by her side. They had each other’s backs and realized that they had misjudged each other in the beginning.

Can you say friendship goals?

6. Miss Vanjie…Miss Vanjie

From: Season 10

Vanessa Vanjie Mateo is one of the most likable Queens that have ever been a part of RuPaul’s Drag Race. She is lovely, funny and supportive.

Unfortunately, she was eliminated during the first episode of Season 10, where her trademark exit blew up all around the world.

Luckily, she was brought back in Season 11, where she shocked audiences and judges all together. Although she was one again eliminated, her exit was even better than in season 10!

From: Season 7

During the first episode of Season 7, there was one Queen that immediately stood out from the crowd. Violet Chachki, the Queen with the slimmest wait who cinches the best, wowed RuPaul as well as the world.

During the mini challenge, Spring & Fall Lewks, Violet Chachki’s reveal was one of the best showstoppers ever!

8. India Ferrah VS. Mimi Imfurst

From: Season 3

Mimi Imfurst was in a lot of hot water during season 3 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. First with Shangela now with India Ferrah during a scandalous lip sync battle.

Uncertain of her chances of winning, Mimi Imfurst proceeded to man-handle India Ferrah and chuck the Queen over her shoulder! I mean, what?

Not only was RuPaul not impressed in the slightest by Mimi’s actions, she also gave India a scare for her life!

From: Season 10

Lip Sync battles are great, because we never know what the Queens will pull out of their sleeves! Will it be funny or elegant? Will they do the splits or a cartwheel? The choices are endless!

10. Cyst-ers

From: Season 11

Soju, you were gone too soon, but you definitely made your mark in RuPaul’s Drag Race. Although the first Queen to be eliminated, Soju tried to defend her Runway look by confessing to her competition and the judges that she has a cyst on her taint and it popped on the plane ride over.

Yes, a cyst. That popped.

The Queens then used the phrase ‘Cyst’ to honor Soju as they began referring to themselves as ‘Cyst-ers’.

11. Coco Montrese VS. Alyssa Edwards

From: Season 5

Season 5 was filled with memorable moments, not only for Alyssa Edwards’ tongue popping, but for the feud that was ongoing between Coco Montrese and Alyssa Edwards. Putting two enemies to compete for the same title? What was RuPaul thinking?

“That’ll make for some great entertainment.” That’s what he was thinking. And it worked!

During an argument, Alyssa Edwards delivered an infamous one-liner “look how fucking orange you look, girl” which became an instant meme.

Alexis Mateo was an entertaining Queen from season 3 and she made us all laugh! Although she didn’t go on to win the competition, she won our hearts.

One of the funniest and best moments from Season 3 included Alexis Mateo during a patriotic challenge. While trying to make videos to send to the troops deployed overseas, Alexis Mateo went wild. Luckily, she managed to make RuPaul and Michelle laugh.

“Sickening, no?”
